Music Therapy with Miss Moon

If I (God forbid!) were to die today, I hope sincerely that a major point that I've conveyed in writing Miss Moon's Musings is that it's okay to be yourself. As flawed and dorky as I am today, I am so much happier than the woman I was ten years ago... Who feared being shunned or misunderstood. Who feared being alone and branded an outcast, so she became the women she thought people wanted her to be.

When I started working on myself (Believe me, that's an on-going process!) in my mid-twenties, gradually the woman I am today starting emerging. And you know what? I lost a lot of people I considered "friends" in the process. They couldn't hang with the Audrey I was becoming, and that's cool.. because I didn't want to hang with anyone who could not support my growth and see it for what it was... a miracle.

The moment you choose to buck the system and say, "I'm going to do something wonderful and follow my heart", is the moment where you start to see the world clearer. And I recognized that people who wave their freak flags high are the people who make life more interesting. They are the people who truly inspire.. just through their example. They are people like you, and like me... and I think that it's time we celebrate being ourselves!
