So as I mentioned in my last post, I've been living with a pinched nerve for a little over a week now, and the pain has been so intense. Because of this, I have decided to take a break from the blog for a few days to focus on getting better.
Tonight I reached my breaking point and had a total collapse: the pain, the frustration and the discomfort got too much for me. The worse thing was that in these past few days, I've had very little to no sleep, which heavily contributed to my break down.
At my hubby-to-be's promptings (after soothing my tears and massaging my back and shoulders with his favorite cure-all: clove oil) I meditated on the pain and asked it what, metaphysically, was it trying to teach me. So much came to be, and I can't wait to share it with you all, hopefully sometime this weekend.
In the meantime, be sure to vote for which bag I should get to ensure this pain doesn't continue!!
Peace from Brooklyn!

:::drools::: Shoulder - Sparing Crossbody Handbags (POLL- Vote for Your Favorite!!))
So, as I mentioned in a previous post, I have a pinched nerve in my left shoulder. This pain is so severe that it's causing blinding migraines that occur when bending, standing, or even leaning over. No bueno.
My doctor believes that the prime suspect of this pain is my super, super heavy handbag. Taking her advice, I feng shui'd my purse, removing all but the necessities. I also removed what felt like $1,000 worth of coins from my wallet. Sadly, it didn't do much to improve the heaviness of the bag.
I thought about it, and considered it might be time to leave the shoulder bags alone for a while and opt for a crossbody bag instead. Since I'm home sick and can't even enjoy the television (It's crazy for me to get pain from movement on the t.v.!!!), I decided that, with my laptop on the lowest lighting possible for visibility!) I would checkout crossbody bags online. I have narrowed it down to three choices, and I want YOU to decide for me!!!
Here are the options:

Option A: Nine West Central Time Crossbody Bag ($43.99, Macy's)
I chose this bag because it looks like 75% of my shoulder bags, black with some type of zipper detail. I also thought that is would be a good, sensible bag for everyday.

Option B: Navy Studded Crossbody Bag ($26.00, Torrid)
This bag is FIIIIIIIIIIYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! I love the blue, I love the studs, and I love the fact that it has that back pocket (Perfect for a MetroCard)!!

Option C: Fossil Ari Crossbody Bag ($87.99, Macy's)
I love the colors in this bag, but I am not so keen on the price. I can't justify spending that amount of money (which is the sale price, I might add!) on a purse that I'll wear for a few months until my back is up to snuff and then every once and while!

I am thinking I will wait until I get 25 votes and then make my purchase based on the most popular pick!! Be sure to check in a few weeks for a follow up email...Thanks for voting!

DO SOMETHING: Support Proposition 8 Being Ruled Unconstitutionall!

Big news!! A federal judge in California has declared Proposition 8 unconstitutional!
From The Huffington Post:
After a five-month wait, 9th Circuit District Court Judge Vaughn Walker offered a 136-page decision in the case of Perry v. Schwarzenegger, firmly rejecting Proposition 8, which was passed by voters in November 2008.
"Although Proposition 8 fails to possess even a rational basis, the evidence presented at trial shows that gays and lesbians are the type of minority strict scrutiny was designed to protect," Walker ruled.
We've moved one step closer to full marriage rights for same-sex couples.
It's not the end of the struggle, because this ruling will likely be appealed and could make its way up to the Supreme Court, but it's definitely a huge victory.
I just took a minute to say thanks to the two couples who sued for their rights and brought the issue to court. Will you do the same? Click here to send your thanks, or go directly to http://bit.ly/bJvSTd
Thanks!
Peace, Love (and Equality!) from Brooklyn!!

Music Therapy with Miss Moon
I have been a total slacker with the blog lately, I admit it. I've been sick with a stomach bug for the last five days, an on top of that... I have my pinched nerve in my shoulder (Yay!).
I selected this week's Music Therapy with Miss Moon based on the song's very mellow, smooth vibe and I can definitely appreciate that right about now. I hope you all will enjoy Akua Allrich's "Hard to Get" (and be sure to check out the jewelry in the video... ::drools::!)
