I recently discovered this week's song and upon first listening, I thought to myself, "This would be the PERFECT song to chill with a nice cool drink on a Saturday Night!". Fast forward to today... I am sitting here, glass filled with ice and something delish, and the smooth mellow and sultry sounds of Dusty Springfield is surrounding me.

Happy Saturday, Everyone!!! This week was a tough one for this Brooklyn Geechee. I returned to work (despite not being 100% yet... I'm a trouper!) and have started to get caught up with all the work that I missed. Suffice to say, I've been coming home exhausted every single night, which explains the lack of blog posts.

This weekend is all about relaxation, kicking back, being quiet and just enjoying the stillness. My selection for this week's "for a Saturday Night" song is a PERFECT accompaniment for my mood, and it goes out with a very special shout out to my friend Marianne (Who celebrated a birthday this past week.. Scorpio Sister!!) who loves this song as much as I do. I hope that you all will love "Sir Greendown" by Janelle Monae....

A Little [ELLINGTON & COLTRANE] for a Saturday Night

Initially I was going to take a break from the slow jams and post something a little more upbeat for this particular Saturday Night selection. But a crippling migraine and an especially trying evening has my soul crying out for something soothing.

Thank you Bill Cosby, for playing this song and wooing Phylicia Rashad on "The Cosby Show"... implanting into my prepubescent mind that love can be calm and gentle. I hope that "In a Sentimental Mood" by Duke Ellington and John Coltrane will give you that same gentle feeling tonight. Enjoy!

Music Therapy with Miss Moon

I have been a total slacker with the blog lately, I admit it. I've been sick with a stomach bug for the last five days, an on top of that... I have my pinched nerve in my shoulder (Yay!).
