A Little [TRINA BROUSSARD] for a Saturday Night

Tonight's song will be the last one in my "Grown Folks Music" series... for now. I've talked about how influential the movie Love Jones was for me in my late teens/early twenties, and the soundtrack was equally (if not more) prominent in my life.

I remember when I first got the c.d. like it was yesterday. I was shopping at Green Acres Shopping Mall with my girl Nerissa and her sister Tammy. I bought the c.d. at Sam Goody, and we played it in the car on the drive back to their house, and it was the greatest feeling in the world!!!! I felt so grown up at the time! LOL

I'm sure those of your familiar with the soundtrack will realize that tonight's song is Trina Broussard's sultry remake of Minnie Riperton's "Inside My Love".

A Little [D'ANGELO] for a Saturday Night

My second choice for the "Grown Folks" series for a Saturday Night was a tough one for me, because I had a heck of a time trying to figure out which version of tonight's song choice to select. While the original version is one that is special to my honey and I (I can remember many nights we spent in Corning with the song playing in the background.... mmmm!), I have a soft spot for D'Angelo's remake of the song. And... if I selected the D'Angelo version, I could use it as an excuse to post this:

So you can get the motivation for my decision! LOL I hope you all will enjoy "Heaven Must Be Like This" by D'Angelo, and I hope that you will stare at the above picture and sigh... :-)
