I Wanna Go Shopping With...Folake Kuye Huntoon of StylePantry.com
I have a lot of web sources when it comes to style inspiration, and while StylePantry.com is one of my newest sources, I diligently visit as much as my old favorites. The reason is real, real simple: Folake, y'all.... Folake. What can I say about the utter fierceness of Folake Kuye Huntoon that hasn't already been said? She's been Fashion Bombshell of the Day, she's been called a Real Life Muse, and she's even a nominee for Chictopia's Influential Blogger of the Year Award (for which she could use your vote!!!).
Truth be told, I submitted my vote for her with the silent prayer that if she wins and comes to NYC she will let me follow her around for an hour or two as she goes shopping! LOL
I think it was this photo of Folake that sparked my newest obsession of finding a nice plus size pocketed midi skirt! I haven't found one that has made me go "Ooooh!" yet, but I am definitely keeping my eyes open! And when I find it.. I WILL be rocking something like this!!
I think this is an outfit that needs recreating for Plus Size Fashionistas, don't you think?!?!? I'm head over heels in love with that top!
Gorgeous Daishiki? Check. Nail Color that makes Miss Moon drool (Must have that color!!!!)? Check. Curls for days? Check. KILLER jewelry? Check!
This outfit just SCREAMS "Autumn" to me!!!! I love her jewelry choices for this look as well!
Alloy's Paisley Tunic Dress would be the first place I'd start if I was recreating this gorgeous retro look!
I think this is in my Top 10 Favorite Folake Style Moments: From the color combination to her exquisite jewelry... this outfit is simply put, breathtaking!!
Dear Santa: This necklace. LOL

I Wanna Go Shopping With...Solange Knowles

I love Solange Knowles: Her spirit is UNAPOLOGETICALLY FIERCE, Her music is AWESOME, and her style KICKS ASS!!!

I love this photo because only her nails, shoes, hair and beautiful smile are visible... but it's still stylish as hell!!!!

I've featured this outfit already in the past, but it continues to be a favorite of mine by Boxing Kitten. As an unofficial update to my post last year, upon reviewing the Boxing Kitten website, it looks like they still only go as high as a size 12, so it looks like I'm going to have to lose a lot of weight before I will be patronizing them... which sucks!

This look is truly giving me something I can feel, y'all!!!!!

Poppin' Pink Pin-up!!! I need to start learning how to style my hair like this with a scarf.... it'd be perfect for getting the hair off my neck in the summer!!!

I always refer to this look as "Chic Little Orphan Annie"... can you see what I mean? LOL

For those of you who (like me!) ::drooled:: over this gorgeous Masai-inspired beaded necklace by Noir Jewelry and you don't have $220.00 to spend on it (Also like me!)... Global Girlfriend has a comparable necklace for much less. I might still ask for this for my birthday... My family and divvy up and get it from all of them! LOL
The first time I saw this photo, I wasn't feeling what she was wearing.... After repeated glances at it, I admit it no longer just appeared busy to me (I guess I grew to see the big picture!) and now I love it!
A couple of weeks ago, I spotted a sequined moto jacket at Lane Bryant and thought to myself, "That's cute... but what the hell would I wear with that?!?" Thank you, Universe, and of course, Solange Knowles... for the answer!

I love the unconventional pairing of "clashing" patterns... that don't really clash when you take a good look. I'm not good at it yet, but I love to see when its been flawlessly executed.

I love this photo because in a sea of New York Fashion Community in black, Solange is a welcome splash of color, pattern, and texture.

How much do I love Solange in Gold and purple?!?!? How much do I want to recreate this look!?!? I am finding a pair of purple pumps and will find a lipstick to match, trust!!

I love the combination of colors in this look... it's cool, but it also has a fantasy-inspired sense of whimsy to me... it's like Fashion Week at the Shire!
Another stunning photograph from Solange's FashizBlack Spread.Which one of Solange's looks is YOUR favorite?!?!? Leave a comment with your pick... I want to hear all about it!

:::drools::: Lauryn Hill-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
I admit it. I miss me some L-Boogie, and I wish that she was back into our lives, giving us music, and her beautiful spirit. And let's be real... she had a terrific sense of style!!!
For this look I started with a black tunic with something different!!

Jaca in Black ($29.00, Size Appeal)
Plus size club dress or tunic top. What a trendy sex plus size club dress with a laser cut out front detail. This dress is 34" in body length with a wide banded bottom. The fabric is knit rayon spandex jeresy. made in USA
How awesome is it that I managed to find all of the accessories in one shop?!?!? And the prices are pretty dope too!

Sweet Crocheted Beret in Cream ($5.50, Forever 21)
Crocheted patterns line this lightweight beret with a monochromatic design and ribbed fitted trim. Top off all your outfits with a sweet tip.

Thin Hoop Earrings ($3.80, Forever 21)
Plain and simple thin polished metal hoop earrings with a clasp backing. 2.5" dia. Imported.

12 Piece Bangle Set ($5.80, Forever 21)
A set of high metal bangles with a silver finish will take your outfit up a notch. Pile them on and even pair them with other pieces, because there's no such thing as too many bangles. Set of 12.

Embossed Bangle Set ($5.80, Forever 21)
Set of 19 high polished metallic bangles to mix and match or wear all together throughout the night. Embossed or solid designs.
- 0.8" - 0.16" approx width

:::drools::: Common (Style) Sense for HIM
So my darling hubby-to-be has decided to change up his style and has enlisted my help in selecting some styles. The first style icon I selected is Common. I love his ability of making hip-hop style grown & sexy...

For this outfit, I paired the Entropy Karma Tee ($24.00, Urban Outfitters) with the Long-sleeved pique polo in true black ($25.00, The Gap). And I topped it all off with INC International Concepts Blazer, Raw Edged ($69.98, Macy's)

This is a great casual look! For this one I paired a PHAT Che Guevara tee ($30.00, Vinnie's BK) with a simple DKNY Vest, Black Tonal Stripe Slim Fit (On Sale for Sale $44.99, Macy's)

This sweater was an amazing find! Standard Issue by Hyden Yoo Military Sweater Jacket ($78.00, Urban Outfitters)

And of course no Common-inspired outfit is complete without a kick-ass hat. These are courtesy of the Village Hat Shop.

Kangol Tropic Playa Stingy Brim $48.00

Block Varo Ivy Cap $42.00
