How adorable is this sweet little top ($24.15, Ashley Stewart)? I could definitely see myself rocking this with a skirt for these dog days of summer... or pairing it with a blue blazer and jeans for the fall.

How would YOU rock the Batik Swing Tank?!? Leave a comment with your outfit suggestions!!

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays... Forever 21's Geo Tribal Maxi Dress w/ Braided Belt

I don't quite know what it is about getting older, but it's influencing me to step out of my comfort zone. First it was rocking a red lip, then it was wearing white, and now.... I'm daring to go sleeveless!!

I have never been the type to rock a sleeveless dress. I'm always afraid of an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction in public. But I spotted this week's Wanna Wanna Wednesday pick on the fabulous Luanne of Weesha's World, and I was instantly inspired to pick it up and try to rock a similar look!

This gorgeous and thrifty dress ($22.80, Forever21) has a gorgeous braided belt to flaunt the curves. I would totally rock this with a denim top or with a bright sweater for a pop of color!!

What do you think of the Geo Tribal Maxi Dress? How would YOU rock it?!?

This gorgeous blouse ($50.00, SimplyBe) would look fabulous with a pair of jeans and sandals!! How would you rock this blouse?!?!?

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays: Calvin Klein Three-Quarter-Sleeve Utility Tunic

I guess the true sign of my maturity is that like my Mama and her Mama before her... I've recently been shopping at Macy's. Not the physical store... that place gives me hives! But online. Online where it's save from the inevitable fight that always breaks out when I'm at the store. What's up with that, Macy's.

When I recently purchased a gorgeous pair of natural colored flats (also from Macy's), I imagined myself rocking them with some white, beige or natural top and skinny jeans. Skinny jeans, I have in spades. White tops? Not so much...

Primarily because I'm a world-class, grade "A" klutz. But recently I discovered a wonderful invention called the Tide to Go Pen, so I'm ready to invest in some light colored shirt. Enter this gorgeous utility tunic from Calvin Klein ($54.99, Macy's), which is basically begging to join my closet.

Aside from with my new flats and skinny jeans, I don't know what else to wear with this top. Any suggestions? Leave a comment with your idea!

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays: Simply Be's Beach Caftan

Last week, we had a day so beautiful here in NYC that my co-workers and I all expressed a very strong desire to be at the beach instead of our office. Thinking of the warmer weather to come, and the approach of  beach season, I realized something very important. I need to get a new bathing suit!!! Now that I've gone down in size my four year old swim suit will not be cutting it. And I plan on going to the beach this summer, as many times as I can!!!

I haven't found the swimsuit yet, but at least I know what I'll be rocking over it!!! This gorgeous kaftan ($41.50, Simply Be) is cute enough to wear to the beach, and every day!!!

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays... T.U.K.'s Purple Peacock Heels

Those of you who have followed this blog for quite some time will confirm the the following things about me:

1) I don't do heels.
2) I am cuckoo for all things peacock print.

With all of that being said, can I say that this week's Wanna Wanna Wednesday item is seriously making me rethink my position on the first statement! LOL

How adorable are these pretty as a peacock pumps ($55.00, Torrid)? As much as I wanna wanna wanna, I am a bit hesitant to splurge because $55.00 is a lot of moola to invest in something that I probably won't wear. Despite the mid length heel, my feel hurt just looking at them.

So what say you all? Should I snag these shoes as aversion therapy for a serious heel phobia? Leave a comment with your support (and how YOU'D rock this pump!)...

Wanna Wanna Wednesday... Forever 21's Faded Chambray Shirt

Fasten your seat belts, y'all... I'm about to clue you in to how my mind works! LOL

So last week, I was super shocked and delighted to see that the Jewelry Set I purchased from I.K. Jewelry arrived a week earlier than anticipated and on my birthday to boot!! I of course tried the pieces on, ooh'd and ahh'd, and knew with some level of certainly that I would be rocking the hell out of those pieces very soon. Which lead me to wonder, with WHAT?!? I could wear them with a simple black sweater, but I'm 35 now and eager to shake up my style.

Then in my mind, I flashed to the image of Teresa Jenee from my post a few weeks ago... and then, I remembered seeing today's Wanna Wanna Wednesday item.. and voilà!! An idea was formed!! LOL

So needless to say this Faded Chambray Shirt ($22.80, Forever 21) is DEFINITELY on my list of items to snatch up, and I am looking forward to wearing them with my jewelry set. The only problem is.. what to wear on the bottom? If you have any ideas, be sure to leave a comment with links and/or suggestions!!

Wanna Wanna Wednesday... H&M's Peplum Top

Here is the thing about me and shopping.. I like it to be fast. I generally get an idea about the pieces I'd like to buy and go into a store with the hopes that I will find something that fits my vision. Here is another thing about me and shopping... H + M is not the type of store where one can accomplish such a goal!! LOL

I used to work around the corner from the one on 34th Street here in New York City, and I was fortunate enough to know the best times and days of the week to pop in and shop without raising my blood pressure. I mean seriously, shoppers... it's CLOTHES, not life-saving medicine!! Chill-lax!!

That being said, I do believe I will be making the trip to Manhattan in the upcoming weeks, because I really really need this top ($34.95, H+M) in my life. How adorable!!

I can totally see myself rocking this top with a pencil skirt, or with jeans to dress it down a bit. How about this top with a pair of cobalt blue skinny jeans?!? Yasss!! How would you rock this top?!?

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays... Boho Gold Earrings from Mademoiselle CafeAuLait's Chic Boutique

It's amazing how your tastes change as you get older. I have never ever been much of a fan of gold jewelry... I've always been Miss Sterling Silver. The fact is the only gold jewelry I own is the two gold bangles that belonged to my Grandmother, and I never take them off.

Lately, I notice myself being more and more attracted to golden tones in jewelry, and today's Wanna Wanna  Wednesday item is a reflection of that. It's from one of my favorite Etsy shops  that I love to stalk1!!

These Boho Gold Earrings ($17.00, MlleCafeAuLait Etsy Shop) features gorgeous textured wooden beads, golden wooded spacer discs, and how awesome is the golden teardrop chain?!? I need these earrings in my life in the worst way!! LOL

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays... Jeffrey & Paula Aztec Leggings

We've reached the last few weeks of summer and I for one cannot believe how quickly the season has gone by! I haven't even made it to the beach yet this summer! Booo!!!

Nonetheless, a large part of my mind is now ready for Autumn to arrive. No more heat rash from taking my walks, cooler, crisper weather, and of course... fall fashion!!! First up on my Wanna Wanna Wednesday list are these adorable Aztec Leggings from Jeffrey and Paula ($49.00, Simply Be)!!

I love how the leggings are paired with boots and a snazzy black sweater in the picture below! I most likely would rock it exactly that way. Boring, I know! LOL

How would you rock these leggings?!?

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays... Forever 21's Houndstooth Peplum Top

Can I just say that Forever 21's plus sizes have REALLY been impressing me lately?!? I rarely shop there, not because I don't like the store, but it's not the first place I look. On a whim, I decided to check out their website to see what they had and was bowled over by the amount of really cute things I could totally see myself rocking. Believe me, it was tough to pick one for this post, but I think I went with the item I was most excited about!!

This adorable Houndstooth Peplum Top ($19.80, Forever 21) is something I could totally see myself wearing with a cue pencil skirt or trousers for work. And how cute would this top be with a pair of skinny jeans and some riding boots for the weekend? Hawt!!!

What do you think of this top? Is it a "Not Gonna" or "Wanna Wanna"?!?!? How would YOU rock it?

:::drools::: Ashley Madekwe-style for Plus Size Fashionistas

I haven't done a plus size fashionistas post in awhile, I know. Please know that just because I'm on my Get Healthy path with a vengeance, it doesn't mean in the least bit that I don't love love LOVE recreating celebrity fashions for my full-figured sistren!

The honest reason why I haven't posted yet, is because I've been dying to do a outfit remix featuring leopard and/or camo print jeans!!! I love that look, and while scores of celebrities have been seen rocking them, they weren't women I'd necessarily want to feature in my blog. Not being mean, I'm just really am particular about who I give my energy to. And to me, dedicating time to locating photographs, and recreating outfits is giving away my energy!

Enter actress/blogger/fashionista/friend-in-my-head Ashley Madekwe of ABC's "Revenge" (Did y'all check out that season finale?!? I thought my head was going to explode!!). I have blogged about how much I dig her style before, but I literally said "Yes!!" when I viewed her recent blog post, "London Calling". Why? Because she's rocking the hell out of some leopard print jeans, of course!!!

It's like she's saying in this picture, "Oh you want to do a post about leopard print jeans, Audrey? I've got your back, girl!!" LOL

And the great thing about this outfit, aside from the fact that's it's effin' FLY... is that one of the items Ashley's wearing is totally something we can purchase to recreate the look... without our lights being cut off!  LOL Here's what I've come up with:

Top: Ivory Crochet Bling Tank Top ($38.50, Torrid)
Jeans: Camo Jeggings by DKNY Jeans ($98.00, Lane Bryant)
Sunglasses: Oversized Retro Sunglasses ($20.87, ASOS)
Sandals: Shine Studded Sandals ($12.99, Payless)
Satchel: Leather Leopard Metal Buckle Satchel ($83.50, ASOS)

I am really really liking this outfit. If those jeans ever come down in price at Lane Bryant (It's been MORE than a few months, LB! Get with it!), you might see me rocking a variation of this look!

Be sure to visit Ashley's blog, http://ashley-ringmybell.blogspot.com/. Seriously, it's dope!!!

Wanna Wanna Wednesday... Zara Cutwork Ballet Flats

Welp, it's that time of the week again! Time for me to share another item on my "Wanna Wanna Wanna" list. I haven't been doing a lot of shoe shopping lately. Truth be told, most of my time is spent rocking my "Red Magic Shoes", so I think that a pretty pair of flats is JUST what the doctored ordered!!! These Cutwork Ballet Flats ($69.90, Zara) are so prettiful I can't stand it!!!! LOL

I'm REALLY Diggin': Deen + Gray's Floating Crescent Hoop Earrings

Being unemployed, I've seriously limited my shopping and try to resist temptation whenever it happens to surface. However... when I spotted Deen + Gray's Floating Crescent Hoops and learned that they were on sale... I had to get them last month. I had to!!! LOL

I'm trying to train myself to not reward myself with food after I've "been good" with my diet and exercise, so these earrings were my "treat" for a job well done. And what a sweet treat they are!!

I was bowled over at how quickly I received them (Literally three days after placing my order they were in my mailbox!) and I was GAGA over the adorable packaging!

The earrings are as gorgeous in person as they are in their pictures! They are extremely light weight and I love that they compliment my fuller face!!

Since this shade of blue is my favorite color (But.. I've mentioned that, right? Besides, I'm sure you've noticed! LOL) I did not have a lack of items to wear to accentuate the earrings. This tunic with embellished collar from Torrid is my favorite combination so far!!

To check out all the amazing goodies, not to mention the Floating Crescent Hoops, be sure to visit the Deen + Gray website at http://www.deenandgray.com/.

Wanna Wanna Wednesday... Columbia Descender NM

I L-O-V-E Love my "Red Magic Shoes" with all of my heart, but I'm noticing that as my walks are getting longer, and I'm covering more ground.. my feet HURT at the end!!! Which.. doesn't really make me want to walk again that day. And rather then shorten my walks, which is exactly the opposite of what I'm trying to accomplish, I think its time that I invest in a good walking sneaker. After a short search, I came across a pair that caught my eye because of how gosh darn cute they are!!!

It's the color that gets me... this is my HANDS DOWN, ALL TIME, favorite shade of blue... and just looking at these sneakers and imagining them on my feet makes me kinda giddy. I want you to imagine me, my arms clutched around myself in a self hug, squealing loudly, "Blueeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....". Because, literally, that's the way I feel about these sneakers! LOL

Side Note: During a recent walk, I stumbled across a blue brownstone here in Bed-Stuy, and I almost walked into a tree and like, three people staring adoringly at this home thinking "I shall live there SOMEDAY.... Oh yes!! That house shall be mine!". I'm THAT big of a blue dork!!!

But don't think that it's the heavenly shade of blue alone that sells me. It also happens to be a pretty kick ass shoe!! The Descender NM by Columbia® ($80.00, Zappo's) is a multisport shoe with a stabilizing design and high-traction outsole are ready for all outdoor activities. Designed as the ultimate walk-off shoe that's perfect for hiking and rock climbing, it boasts closed mesh upper with microsuede and webbing for better support and stability, Techlite® heel and tongue providing supportive comfort, and compression-molded Techlite midsole for lightweight cushioning and comfort.

That's all well and good, and I'm-a let you finish (And yes, you should have read that in Kanye West's voice).... But... look at how pretty the blue is!!!!! Seriously, COME ON!!!!!

I've done all of my spending I had planned to do for the month, unfortunately... but I might have to budget a bit to get my hands on these babies. I might see if I can find them cheaper elsewhere because my feet really need a sturdy walking sneaker... Yes, my feet really want to be cushioned in blue heaven. So these sneakers are a NECESSITY, you see! LOL

I Wanna Go Shopping with... Ashley Madekwe

Those of you that follow me on Twitter and/or catch my rantings, ramblings and revelations on the Miss Moon's Musings FaceBook page already know I STAN for ABC's "Revenge" BIG TIME. For those of you who had know idea, let me explain the depth of my affection for that show: One of the reasons why Wednesdays is my usual day off from walking is so that I don't miss a moment of the drama when I take Walk #2!!! LOL

The irony is that while I love the show with a passion, I cannot stand Ashley Madekwe's character on the show, also named Ashley (Davenport)!!!! Sad, but true.... but I cannot deny that homegirl can dress her tuchus off! And the same can be said for Ashley Madekwe herself. This, of course, is why I would really LOVE to go shopping with her!

I love this look to pieces! It's simple, but the colors of the mini and the purse really makes the whole thing POP!!!

A similar look to the one above, but with the VA-VA-VA-VOOM red lips, clutch and booties... the outfit is instant vamp!

How perfect is this outfit for vacationing, or even hanging out on a Summer weekend afternoon?!?

Love this!!!!

Mark my words, y'all: When Miss Moon gets down to a size where she can rock this.... Best believe she will be rocking something like this!!! This outfit = EVERYTHING!!!

Those Boots...

Simply Stunning!!!!

I love these colors!!!

Now this is something I do believe I can rock now.... and believe me, I am mentally putting this outfit together!!!

Had to show the back view of the same outfit!!!! Fab!!!

Love that skirt!!!!

The ring, the necklace... get in my jewelry box, now!!!! LOL

Do you want to go shopping with Ashley, too?!?! Well, the closest thing to it is to stalk check out her DOPE AS HELL blog, Ring My Bell at http://ashley-ringmybell.blogspot.com/!!

Miss Moon's Musing About: The Best 'GET THAT JOB' Interview Look

So it's been a little over four months since I've been unemployed. While I've done my best to make the best use of this time, I think it's time to shake things up and be a bit more proactive in my job search.

One of my favorite things to do is invest in a KILLER job interview ensemble... something that has just enough of my personality, a splash of professionalism, and a liberal application of "Check me out, you know you want me for this job!!!". I've always found that when there is a kick ass look hanging in your closet, you get excited about the prospect of wearing it on an interview. When you're excited about the possibility of going on an interview, you're more excited when job searching. And when you're excited about job searching, that energy and intent can be conveyed in your application.

This results in a job interview... which results in an opportunity to rock your interview duds!!! And in the very best case scenario... it results in your getting that great job!! So I searched the internet for the past few days, looking for outfits that I would actually wear on a job interview. I've put together three in total, and I want to know which of the three looks, (if you were a prospective employer) would MOST make you want to hire me.
Now keep in mind, I'm not looking for a job on Wall Street, which would require me to wear a suit 5 days a week. My perfect opportunity would be a job where I could wear jeans if I wanted to... but honestly, I rarely do. I really really like this outfit and I think if I rocked this with my white blazer, it would really be an eye catcher:

Top: ASOS CURVE Jersey Top With Peplum Hem ($39.99, ASOS)
Pants: Slant Pocket Slim Leg Pant ($39.99, Avenue)
Shoes:  HILSER Flats ($50.00, Aldo Shoes)
Necklace: Encompassing Peacocks Indie Necklace ($25.99, Ruche)

This look is a bit more colorful, which I am all about, but I don't believe it's SUPER overwhelming as to appear unprofessional in a job interview.

Top: Lime Leaf Print Top ($35.00, Evans USA)
Cardigan: Women's Plus 3/4-Sleeve Cardigans ($36.94, Old Navy)
Pants: Flared Leg Trousers ($59.95, Lane Bryant)
Shoes: SM Women's Heaven Multicolor Flat ($39.95, DSW)

Now,  I am generally ALL ABOUT pants when going on a job interview. But chalk it up to getting older and more adventurous, I would welcome the opportunity to wear a skirt on an interview now. And to celebrate my new-found chutzpah when it comes to job interview apparel, I've selected this outfit:

Top: Printed Poncho Blouse ($29.50, Ashley Stewart)
Skirt: Bespoke Perfect Black Pencil Skirt ($48.00, Simply Be)
Shoes: Seychelles Freesia Flat ($79.95, DSW)
Bag: Hurley Prism II Book Tote ($40.00, Zappos)

There you have it. Three looks I could sincerely see myself wearing on a job interview. Now it's up to you which one I invest in: Look One, Look Two, or Look Three.... so be sure to leave me a comment with your pick!!!!
