Wanna Wanna Wednesdays.... Isaac Mizrahi Live! Ikat Jacquard Shawl Collar Blazer
Hooray!!! Today's my 1,000th post!!!! As I've mentioned before... I cannot believe the weather has changed so dramatically here in NYC. It went straight from fall to early winter!! And it's with this time of year in mind that I have to think about transitional outwear that's both functional and fashionable. And boy is my face red that I had NO IDEA that Isaac Mizrahi is selling stuff on QVC! I mean, look at this JACKET, y'all!!! LOOOK!! LOL
The jacket ($77.00, QVC) has everything that makes Audrey go "Oooh!": Ikat Print, Blue, Cute little shawl collar!!! I would rock this jacket with all of my favorite scarves: my bright yellow scarf, my leopard print scarf.... It would kill!!!
Although I am and will always be ::In Olivia Newton John voice:: Hopelessly devoted... to blueeeeee..... I have to admit that the jacket is pretty cute in the Sand/Black combo as well.

:::drools::: Paula Patton-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
Can you believe it's been over a month since my last Plus Size Fashionistas post?!? I'll tell you, having a cracked laptop screen was no fun at all... it was very difficult to manuever to be creative with my posts!! Fortunately I have a new (to me) laptop that I'm having a blast with thus far... and you all get to reap the benefits, because I have recreated Paula Patton's adorable outfit for my full figured friends out there.
Paula's dress is actually from Kova and T Georgina, and can be purchased for a pretty darn reasonable price for readers who have to have it's polkadotted glory! For those of us who need something a bit more suited for our curves, here's my remix of her look:
Dress: SL Fashions Sleeveless Polka-Dot Tie-Neck Plus Size Dress ($69.99, Macy's)
Booties: Yellow Perforated Faux Leather Lace Up Chunky Heel Booties ($23.99, Ami Club Wear)
Clutch: Libutti Clutch ($45.00, Aldo Shoes)
Earrings: Rhinestoned Loop Earrings ($7.80, Forever 21)

:::drools::: Solange Knowles-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
Oh, Sol-Angel... why must you tempt me so? LOL
Every time I swear to myself that under no circumstances will I recreate another of her looks for the rest of year, she comes up with a look that makes me go "Yesssssss!!!!!". And from there, I can't fight it.
I spotted this picture of Solange shopping in New York City with the familia and was bowled over by how comfy/chic the look was... and if you all know one thing about me by now, it's that I'm ALL ABOUT the comfy/chic!!! Here's my interpretation of her look:
Top: Women's Plus Cowl-Neck Tops in Crimson and Clover ($26.94, Old Navy)
Skirt: Jessica London Pencil Skirt in Animal Print ($49.99 - $54.99, One Stop Plus)
Bag: GUESS Fallon Small Carryall in Cognac Multi($118.00, Macy's)
Shoes: Women's Bianca Ankle Strap Flat in Tan ($24.99, Payless)
Sunnies: Brown/Brown Sunglasses ($5.80, Forever 21)
If you have an outfit you'd like me to try to recreate for plus size fashionistas, drop me a line via email, Twitter, or on the Miss Moon's Musings Facebook page.

:::drools::: Tia Mowry-Hardrict-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
Hooray!! Another Challenge!!! After last week's post, I receive the following message from my good friend (and work wifey) Stephanie:
HEY GIRL! Can you create Tia's outfit? Or else!
Well since you asked so nicely.... LMAO!!! I believe that Tia's dress is courtesy of Jay Godfrey, called the 'Predock' Asymmetrical Sleeve Silk Dress:
I love how Tia kept her look very simple.... it's hard to rock a lot of bling and carry an infant. This dress is definitely gorgeous, but a) It's $395.00, and b) It's largest size is a size 10. Boo.... Hiss...!
For those of you (like me) who are lacking Tia's post-baby bod (Yes, I'm jealous!!! LOL) or bank account, I've recreated the look. Here's what I'm working with:
Dress: Raw Edge One Shoulder Dress ($33.17, Asos Curve)
Shoes: Sorgatz Heel ($69.98, Aldo Shoes)
Adorable baby boy not included! LOL

:::drools::: Gabrielle Union-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
I love a good challenge! Jay of The Bohemian Diva recently hit me up via email with this photo of Gabrielle Union, asking if I thought I could recreate the look:
Not only did I recreate the look, I made it Autumn-friendly by switching the dress with a killer jumper in a similar print (However, those of you in warmer climates - or those who can stand the cold - can definitely swap the jumper with this dress or this one.)! Here's what I came up with:
Jumper: Strapless Floral Jumper ($24.80, Forever 21)
Jacket: Jessica London Notched-Collar Nassau Jacket in White ($44.99 - $69.99, One Stop Plus)
Shoes: Leatherette Strappy Heels in Gray ($26.80, Forever 21)
Clutch: Varzo Clutch ($19.98, Aldo Shoes)
Complete this outfit for some cute hoop earrings, a mega-watt smile, and you're good to go!!
If you have an outfit you'd like me to try to recreate for plus size fashionistas, drop me a line via email, Twitter, or on the Miss Moon's Musings Facebook page.
Today's the last day...don't forget to enter my giveaway to win a gorgeous blue vintage handbag from Ose (Uh-Seh)

Best of Brooklyn: Restoration Rocks 2011
This past weekend marked the beginning of the seventh annual Bed-Stuy Alive here in my hood. Bed Stuy Alive! is a week of activities (October 8 - October 15) that celebrates the community’s many treasures, from its history, commerce and culture. This year’s theme is Live Healthy, Live Well, Live Green.
A major highlight of the week is probably the best free concert series to come to Bed-Stuy, Restoration Rocks! This year's line up was spectacular, Pharoahe Monch , Idle Warship (Supergroup featuring Talib Kweli, and Res), Mos Def with the Brooklyn Philharmonic (DOPE!!!) and a lot more local artists showcasing their talents. While I was super excited to see all the act, I must admit, Chris and I left the house super late, so I only had the opportunity to see Mos Def perform.
I don't have to tell you he killed it, right?!?! LOL
After enjoying Mos (It's going to take some use to calling him Yassin Bey next year!), Chris and I walked around the festival, checking out the various vendors, seeing our options for lunch (the variety of food was bananas!!! Soo many choices!), and people watching...
I met Veronica at the food court area, enjoying some delicious smelling yummies. We talked food, blogs and she hipped me to some great vendors at the event.
I also ran into my friend (and Badass Blogger), Michelle.. whom I literally had not seen since grade school! LOL
She was even kind enough to snap a picture of Chris and I!!!
I had such an amazing time, but I knew I had some henna-ing to get started, so we called it a day and headed back to the casa, and managed to snap a few more pics in the process.
(Finally! An outfit post! LOL) What I'm Rockin':
Tuxedo Jacket: Torrid
Tunic: Lane Bryant
Jeggings: Old Navy
Boots: Torrid
Scarf & Bracelet: Street Vendors in BK
Earrings: Butterfly Earrings from Bella Duafe
Nails : Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicures in Gray by Gray

:::drools::: Curvy-Friendly Vintage Wear by Ose (Uh-Seh)!!
Being a plus size lover of vintage apparel, I can definitely speak on the difficulty of finding plus size clothing in vintage shops. It really makes you wonder what the chubby girls were wearing back in the day! LOL
Fortunately, a new consignment shop specializing in clothing for curvy girls has launched earlier last month, Ose (Uh-Seh), created by the writer of the awesome Tumblr blog Mind of a Curvy Girl.
Ose decided to name the line after herself because it reflects who she is, “All my life, people have not known me for my real name pronounced “Uh-Seh”. I want this line to reflect who I am, and how I want encourage beauty and fashion in every plus size woman I have the opportunity to meet through my clothing.”.
On September 11, 2011 Ose (Uh-Seh) launched it's cyber home, www.oseuhseh.com in addition to having a “pop up shop” launch party at Paper Doll Boutique where Ose (Uh-Seh) will be sold for a limited time. Ose (Uh-Seh) will continue to have “pop up shop” locations in stores around NYC and also have trunk shows in the New York area and beyond. But you don't have to wait for the pop up shop to hit your area!! Here are a few of my favorite items that's currently up for grabs!!
Sheer Delight Black Dress (Size 20, $75.00)
Sequin Flower with Mesh Neckline Top (Size L, $40.00)
Fluorescent Pink Jacket (Size 12/14, $20.00)
Egg Shell Blue Snake Print Bag... FREE, for one lucky reader!!!
That's right, Ose was gracious enough to offer up my favorite item for a giveaway!!! And although I really want to grab this bag and run for the hills screaming "It's mine... down, down, down... go, go, go... mine, mine, mine!!!" a la Daffy Duck, I wont. LOL
For a chance to win this beautiful vintage bag, you must:
* Follow this Blog on Blogger or NetworkedBlogs (all the info to subscribe is on the left!)
* "Like" the Ose (Uh-Seh) FaceBook Page (Leave a message on the wall and let them know Miss Moon's Musings sent you!)
* Leave a comment with your name and email address.
You have until October 12, 2011 at 11:59 EST to enter. I will announce the winner Thursday afternoon/evening (Basically when I get home from work..lol) . Ose and I may also have a very special surprise for all of you then, too.. so keep your eyes open!! Best of Luck!!
Ose will be adding some goodies to the site next week, so be sure to visit www.oseuhseh.com... you don't want to miss it!!

:::drools::: Rihanna-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
This marks the very first time I am recreating a look from Rihanna for plus size fashionistas. Not because I'm not a fan of her style. In fact, I like 85% of the ensembles she's been seen in over the last few months. My reason for not featuring her before is simple: EVERYBODY'S done it! LOL
What inspired me to find an outfit of hers was her new video for "Cheers (Drink to That)"....
I thought the song was super fun, and I liked seeing the video footage of her on stage and off, enjoying her life while looking fabulous along the way. I thought that a fun weekend look would be the perfect accompaniment for this song. When I spotted this picture of Rihanna walking around New York City, I knew I didn't have to look any further.
I love that this outfit looks polished and casual/comfy at the same time (I am all for comfort, folks!). I could very easily see myself rocking something like this to dinner and a movie with my honey, or even to lunch with my homegirls. It's also a great way to revamp a tee and sneaker rut without feeling too different. Here's how I recreated the look:
Top: Alicia Lace-Trim Tunic ($31.90, Alloy)
Jeans: Propulsion Skinny Jean ($64.50, Torrid)
Hoop Earrings: Textured Hoop Earrings ($3.80, Forever21)
Necklace: Whimsical Nature Necklace ($5.80, Forever21)
Shoes: Ohearn Ballet Flats in Bone ($50.00, Aldo Shoes)
Clutch: Fair Trade Coffee Brown Girlfriend Raffia Purse ($59.99, A Gift to Africa)

:::drools::: Gillian Zinser-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
I have to admit.... I had no idea who Gillian Zinser was prior to writing this blog post. LOL
I saw this outfit, went gaga and knew I had to recreate it for plus sizes. So this edition is a very unique one. I now know (thanks to a bit of Google Magic) that Gillian is a star on the new 90210 series, and appears to have a helluva style. Here's my "everyday economical" interpretation of her look:
Plaid Shirt: Avenue Plaid 2 Pocket Tunic Shirt in Green Combo ($29.90, One Stop Plus)
Maxi Skirt: Women's Plus-Size Mossimo® Black Shirred Maxi Skirt ($19.99, Target)
Faux Fur Bag: Lovers + Friends Large Fur Cheetah Bag ($32.00, Revolve Clothing)
Bracelets: Alli Wrap Bracelet Set (2 for $12.90 each/3 or more: $10.90 each, Alloy)
Finish the look by pulling your hair into an slightly tousled updo and rocking a light lippy for an easy, effortlessly comfy & feminine look.

:::drools::: Vanessa Hudgens-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
When Vanessa Hudgens appeared on the red carpet at the recent "Captain America" premiere, the internet was all a-buzz about her new, shorter hair (which I think looks adorable on her!). I, for one, couldn't get over her outfit!!!! It's such a great for summer, young, fun look, I decided to recreate the look for us plus size fashionistas. But instead of Vanessa's gold, I am bringing you a look silvery and seductive. Here's what I came up with:
Dress: Isabelle V-Neck Dress ($19.90, Alloy)
Shoes: Grey Smooth Velvet Close Toe Hidden Platform Pump Heels ($24.99, AmiClubWear)
Clutch: Glitter Extra Long Clutch ($43.10, ASOS)
Earrings: Shimmering Beaded Earrings ($2.80, Forever21)

Check it Out: Hotter Than July Curvy Girl Fashion Swap Tuesday, August 8th
Summer is my favorite time in the city, simply because of the events happening in NYC. I just had to share this upcoming event that will be happening in Brooklyn!!!
Sweet Roll Entertainment, a fashion events company that is “creating a fulfilling fashion experience for the contemporary curvy girl,” announces its second fashion swap for exclusively for full-figured women, size 10+.
“The Hotter Than July” summer curvy girl fashion swap will take place after work Tuesday, August 2nd at a location to be determined in Brooklyn. Like company’s first and successful swap in May, admission to the event is just a “sweet $16” plus a contribution of 5 gently-used fashionable clothing items.
In addition to unlimited clothes swapping, ticket price also includes curvy girl friendly entertainment and light refreshment for each guest. At the last swap, delicious desserts were served as an eloquent male poet recited poems praising full-figured curvy women. Word is there may be full-figured dance performer this time, while Linger Café serves a delicious menu or large and small plates as well as desserts. (Sweet Roll Ent held its Curvy bloggers luncheon there this past June.)
Also, in keeping with its “Hotter Than July” theme, ladies are encouraged to bring “freak ‘em” dresses (also known as party dresses) to this swap. Attendees will receive an entry into the Featured Item raffle for every freak ‘em dress that they bring. Raffle prizes include everything from vintage jewelry to body products made by full-figured entrepreneurs. Gift bags guaranteed with advance ticket purchase.
For a more information or to buy tickets visit the Sweet Roll Entertainment website at http://sweetrollent.wordpress.com.

:::drools::: Solange Knowles-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
I've featured Solange Knowles a lot in this blog. Primarily because I think she's dope: Love her music, love her attitude, and I love love LOVE her style! I wasn't going to comment on this outfit (Despite my utter worship of it!), because I've mentioned her so much, but it truly was beyond my control.
I saw the photos of Solange at the grand opening of Dream Downtown, PH-D Rooftop Lounge and Marble Lane Restaurant here in NYC, and days after I had resigned myself not to do another outfit post, the outfit pieces jumped out at me everywhere I went! LOL I asked the peeps on the Miss Moon's Musings FaceBook page (Check it out if you haven') if I should do the post and the response was so positive, I felt compeled to change my mind and share the outfit I've created, inspired by Solange's look -
Top: Cassidy Cutout Top ($26.90 - $28.90, Alloy)
Pants: ASOS CURVE Exclusive Belted Wide Leg Pants ($60.34, Asos)
Pumps: Madden Girl Oyzter Pump ($39.95, DSW)
Purse: Small Mock Croc Leatherette Handbag ($26.80, Forever 21)
Earrings: Charming Life 22k Gold Overlay Smokey Quartz Bali Earrings (Starting at $17.49, Overstock.com)
To complete your look, be sure to rock a coral lip. A good color to start with is Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick #38 ~ Satin Coral ($19, Sephora)
I am really digging this shade. Not too sure it would be a good fit for my complexion, but I plan on checking it out at my local Sephora to see how it looks on me.
There you have it!! How awesome would this outfit be on a informal first date, meeting for drinks? Sooo hot!!
Of course, if you end up taking over for the DJ, why not impress your date and keep the party people shouting?!?!? LOL
