A Little [BARENAKED LADIES] for a Saturday Night
Okay, it's Saturday night! So of course, I'm bringing you another song from one of my favorite male performers. And you're in luck, because this time there's five guys to groove to!!
This is one of those songs I heard in a store somewhere and had to find out who the artist was. And once I copped their album, I would play this song on a loop and sing along... LOUDLY. As a matter of fact, I am singing along as I type these words!! LOL
So I hope you all will join me in singing along to "It's All Been Done" by Barenaked Ladies!!

Music Therapy with Miss Moon
" Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same."
~ Francesca Reigler
" 'Why aren't you dancing with joy at this very moment?' is the only relevant spiritual question."
~ Vilayat Khan
" Make your optimism come true."

Happy Monday, Everybody!!! It's week three of our Creative Visualization Challenge, and I've already have seen an improvement!! I have a job interview today that I'm quite excited about!! After not getting any bites in a few weeks, it's awesome to have this opportunity, and I cannot help but think that my improving my attitude is a big cause of this. So I plan on keeping the feel good mojo going, and I hope you all will keep it going with me!

Come on.... who doesn't feel FABULOUS after listening to Deee-Lite? I know that this week's song choice in particular is one that I can play on a loop quite easily, and sing and dance along to. And who knows? Maybe this song will be the celebratory tune I play when I get that awesome job!!! :::Fingers crossed::: In the meantime, I hope you all will enjoy "Two Clouds Above Nine"!!!
Just good things today
Our love's so high
The needle's off the dial
Like a happy tear in your eye
You can't hide the smile
Just good things today
I know I got mine
It's like two clouds above nine
The nth degree of love is in our mind
And we just chose the time
After the rain
I'm on my way to better days
And I must say
No puddle's splash keeps me away
After the rain
Rainbows find my pot of soul
I can't complain
I'm just in from the cold
(Reggae Break)
Damn... that's my jam
Damn... that's my jam
Damn... that's my jam
Damn... that's my jam
Damn... that's my jam
Damn... that's my jam
Just good things today
Our love's so high
The needle's off the dial

The nth degree of love is in our mind
And we just chose the time
After the rain
I'm on my way to better days
And I must say
No puddle's splash keeps me away
After the rain
Reflections I've seen
Like puddles mixed with gasoline
But I can't complain
After the rain
I'm on my way to better days
Two clouds above nine
Two clouds above nine
Two clouds above nine

Damn... that's my jam

A Little [CREE SUMMER] for a Saturday Night
Happy Saturday, y'all!! For the next few weeks, I thought I would do a little something different for each Saturday night, and share some of my favorite female artists with you. Of course I had to begin with my She-ro, my Idol, my Goddess... Cree Summer. If you don't know how deep my love for her goes, you must be new to the blog. If so.. welcome! :) I hope all of you will enjoy, "Sweet Pain"!!!

A Little [BROWNSTONE] for a Saturday Night
Happy Saturday, Beautiful Friends!! Today's song choice for a Saturday night is one that I am super duper excited to be sharing. This song, in fact, is one I've been wanting to use for this post for several years, but hadn't been able to find it on YouTube until recently.
I actually own the cassette single of this song (Yes folks... your friend Audrey is OLD!!), and because I unfortunately do not own a cassette player (Or a CD player for that matter... I'm totally Ms. iPod!), I hadn't heard it for sometime. Until recently, by sheer happenstance, this particular version of the song was a suggested video for me. I clicked the link and upon hear the opening chords, I yelled "Yessss!!!", and instantly decided that tonight I will share Brownstone's beautiful rendition of the Eagles' classic, "I can't tell you why". Enjoy!!

A Little [LAURYN HILL] for a Saturday Night
I had to end the year with Lauryn. Wow, do you remember when The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill dropped?!?! Whooo!!! This album was and is STILL a beast!! It reached the Billboard Top 100 in 1999, and I couldn't think of a better song to usher in the new year.
I hope you all will enjoy "Doo Wop (That Thing)" by the super talented Lauryn Hill, and I will be seeing you in 2012 for some more great music!!!
Happy New Year, Everybody!!!

A Little [NOTORIOUS B.I.G.] for a Saturday Night
This week's song choice for a Saturday Night is from another artist who left us far too soon. I couldn't end our trip through the music of the 90s without a) adding some hip hop to the mix and b) representin' Brooklyn, so I hope you all will enjoy "Hypnotize".

A Little [D'ANGELO] for a Saturday Night
I remember the first time I heard tonight's song. I actually was introduced through the music video and like many straight women (and I'm sure a lot of gay men) thought, "Who the eff is THAT?!?!?!?!", and more importantly, "Where can I get one?!?!?" LOL
Yeah, he's not singing about a girl... but we can dream, can't we? Our trip through the 1990s is picking up steam, with a bit of heat from D'Angelo's "Brown Sugar"...
