Miss Moon Gets Healthy: And Drinks Water... Lots and Lots of Water!!!

I know for a lot of people, drinking water is a huge bummer. A necessary one, but a bummer nonetheless. And you all might consider me a bit of a weirdo, but I happen to LOVE the way water taste. I happen to think that cold water is the yummiest thing when you're hot and thirsty! I love it, my body definitely loves it, so I drink it.

When I started on my journey to getting healthy, I knew that one of the first things I needed to do is to remove all the sugary sweet drinks I consumed and replace them all in water. And I did... in the past three months, I can honestly say I've had a diet soda once, an iced tea, and a vitamin water. I can literally count the non-water drinks I've had. Everything I drink (with the exception of my daily green smoothies.. yep, that's still going on!) is water. Don't believe me?

Pictured: LOTS of bathroom trips!!
I snapped this photo this past weekend to show the amount of water I consume in a single day. Three 50.7 fluid ounces of filtered tap water (in a smart water bottle, 'cause I'm fancy like that!), and I enjoyed a 25.3 fl oz bottle of Perrier with dinner (it's a great way to fool yourself into thinking you're having a soda with dinner!! lol). All together, that makes 177.4 fluid ounces of water I drank. In one day.

Some days I drink a lot more, some days I drink a bit less. But on average, this is what I work with. When I don't pick up a Perrier (or a Pellegrinno, which is my fave!), I will drink another 50.7 ounce of water. Frankly, my love affair with water is waning a bit, but still I do it. Why? Here's a few great reasons:

Lose weight: Drinking water helps you lose weight because it flushes down the by-products of fat breakdown. Drinking water reduces hunger, it’s an effective appetite suppressant so you’ll eat less. Plus, water has zero calories.

Look Younger with Healthier Skin: You’ll look younger when your skin is properly hydrated. Water helps to replenish skin tissues, moisturizes skin and increases skin elasticity.

Better Productivity at Work: Your brain is mostly made up of water, thus drinking water helps you think better, be more alert and more concentrated.

Better Exercise: Drinking water regulates your body temperature. That means you’ll feel more energetic when doing exercises. Water also helps to fuel your muscle.

Less Likely to Get Sick and Feel Healthy: Drinking plenty of water helps fight against flu and other ailments like kidney stones and heart attack. Water adds with lemon is used for ailments like respiratory disease, intestinal problems, rheumatism and arthritis etc. In another words one of the benefits of drinking water is that it can improve your immune system. Follow this link for further information on how lemon water can improve your health.

Relieves Fatigue: Water is used by the body to help flush out toxins and waste products from the body. If your body lacks water, your heart, for instance, needs to work harder to pump out the oxygenated blood to all cells, so are the rest of the vital organs, your organs will be exhausted and so will you.

Good Mood: Your body feels very good and that’s why you feel happy.

So drink up, everybody!!

Music Therapy with Miss Moon

"To love yourself right now, just as you are, is to give yourself heaven. Don't wait until you die. If you wait, you die now. If you love, you live now."
~ Alan Cohen

"Concealed talent brings no reputation."
~ Desiderius Erasmus

"If you count all your assets, you always show a profit."
~ Robert Quillen

I celebrate myself, and sing myself.
~ Walt Whitman

Today, I hope you all will join me in a little celebration. What are we celebrating? We are giving praise, patting ourselves on the backs, and raisin' the roof a bit for ourselves. Think about all the things you truly rock at: If you are a terrific parent to your children, celebrate this. If you work your booty off every day at your nine-to-five, celebrate this. If you can cook a mean chicken tikka masala... call me (Especially if you're single and male!)... LOL. Seriously though, celebrate this. Celebrate every little thing about you that can raise your spirits and allow you to strut your stuff today like a mickey fickey BAWSSS!!

I want each and everyone of you to think about something you think you excel at, and allow yourself to feel pride, and most importantly.... gratitude for this thing. Don't read this and say you cannot find something... I refuse to believe that. Find it! Everybody's got their something.... (See what I did there?)

Today's song choice for Music Therapy with Miss Moon comes from none other than Ms. Nikka Costa. I hope you all will join me in celebrating the little things that make each and every one of us awesome by getting our groove on to "Everybody Got Their Something".

My face to the sky
Dreaming about just how high
I could go and I'll know
When I finally get there

Taking of my glasses
Sun pokes through my lashes
And somehow I know
There's a time for every star to shine

Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something
Make you smile like an itty bitty child

People keeping score
Say better hurry up and get yours
Cause somebody else get your spot
Before you even dropped

Seek and you shall find
Everything in my own sweet time
I'll take my chances
With what I believe is only mine

Busy holding on
So the roof don't fly
Keep you from moving on
So get it right
Turn the tide over
Like a love song
Like a butterfly
Believe if you hand it over
You'll come out all right

Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something
Make you smile like an itty bitty child

Illuminate the silly things
Shed some light on all that's wrong
Everybody need it sometime
Sometimes the only thing you got
Is what makes you feel like
You're something else altogether
You have everything don't need
Another reason to be something
I've been on a ride
And caught up in the landslide
But I'm gonna spread my wings and fly...

Everybody got their something
Everybody got their something
Make you smile like an itty bitty child

There's a time for every star
There's a time for every star...

DOPE: "Mujhko Pehchaanlo" from "Don 2"

So my DOPE blog posts have steered away from poetry to Bollywood film clips, which I think is appropriate because many of the item songs in Hindi films I find tremendously dope!! And today's song is no exception. In fact, it's SOOO DOPE that it doesn't even appear in the movie! Believe me, I said a hearty "WTF" about that... but I've gotten over it now!! LOL

I'd like to do a little something different with this particular edition of DOPE... something (I hope) that will add a little fun to the equation, so I will be sharing FIVE THINGS DOPE ABOUT "Mujhko Pehchaanlo". Don't worry the lyrics and translations will follow, because as you all know... I'm fancy like that!!

1 and 2: Shah Rukh Khan... Nuff Said. If I have to explain further, you haven't seen (and swooned over) any of his films.

3: SRK's Vinnie Barbarino hair in this video... Truly the star of this piece. The 'do is feathered to perfection and I cannot help but feel mesmerized by it flowing in the wind. No shade here, y'all... these are my genuine feelings on the subject. There is no shampoo commercial out there that compares.

Boy, that's a relief!! He IS holding a gun after all!!
4: Can any of you sing AND kick ass at the same time? Hands? Well Don can, and that's AWESOME!! May I be presumptuous and say it's quite possibly the hair that gives him such powers?

5: To paraphrase the great Tom Servo, "Any item number that has 'Wacka-Joe-Wacka' in it is okay by me!!!" LOL

duniya mein logon ne phir apne dil thaame
aaya hoon lekar main phir kitne hungaame

In the world, people again caught their hearts, (they're again restless)
I have come again, with so much furore..

phir maine socha hai main jeetoon sab haaren
darwaaze khul jaayen gir jaayen deewarein
mujhse takra paaya hai kaun
mujhko pehchan lo main hoon don..

I have thought again that I should win and all else should lose,
gates should open and walls should fall down..
who has been able to clash with me (and win)..
recognize me, I am don..

duniya mujhe jo bhi kahe iski mujhe parwah kya
mujhko to hai ye dekhna jeetne ki hai raah kya
jo mujhko rokna chahen, unko hai kya ye pata

whatever the world calls me, I don't care about that..
I have to see what is the way to win..
those who want to stop me, do they know that..

"don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi naamumkin hai"
"It is not just difficult to catch Don, it's impossible."

duniya phir jeetne aaya kaun
mujhko pehchan lo main hoon don..

Who has come to win the world again
Recognize me, I am don..

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays... Forever 21's Houndstooth Peplum Top

Can I just say that Forever 21's plus sizes have REALLY been impressing me lately?!? I rarely shop there, not because I don't like the store, but it's not the first place I look. On a whim, I decided to check out their website to see what they had and was bowled over by the amount of really cute things I could totally see myself rocking. Believe me, it was tough to pick one for this post, but I think I went with the item I was most excited about!!

This adorable Houndstooth Peplum Top ($19.80, Forever 21) is something I could totally see myself wearing with a cue pencil skirt or trousers for work. And how cute would this top be with a pair of skinny jeans and some riding boots for the weekend? Hawt!!!

What do you think of this top? Is it a "Not Gonna" or "Wanna Wanna"?!?!? How would YOU rock it?

:::drools::: Kajol-style for Plus Size Fashionistas

This may come as a huge shock to you all, but I am a HUGE fan of Hindi cinema. I know, I will give you a moment to let that startling revelation sink in! LOL

For me, the queen of Bollywood is Kajol. She is lovely, strong, real, and she acts her ass off. Most people have celebrities they consider "friends in their heads". For me, Kajol is more than a friend, she's family! I call her a "cousin in my head"! LOL

So when I decided to do a fashion post on cousin Kajol, I didn't have to look far to find a terrific outfit to recreate.

This dress is EVERYTHING!!! Blue? Check. Dramatic sleeve? Check. Sexy? Check. Here's my remix:

Dress: R&M Richards Plus Size Dress, Three Quarter Flutter Sleeve One Shoulder Beaded Cocktail Dress ($109.00, Macy's)
Earrings: Fringed Flower Earrings ($4.80, Forever 21)
Shoes: Nine West Hansel Pumps ($62.99, Zappos)

So friends? What do you think of this outfit? Leave a comment with how you think I did in recreating the look?

Music Therapy with Miss Moon

Bad times have a scientific value. These are occasions a good learner would not miss.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

"A rose must remain with the sun and the rain or its lovely promise won't come true."
~Ray Evans

"Each one of us should lead a life stirring enough to start a movement."
~Max Lucado

I've been super bummed the past few weeks. I don't know why, really, but alas... I definitely had a king-size case of the blues. And then one day, I felt better. It wasn't magic or anything like that... I just woke up one day and had a brighter outlook.

I don't know if it's the wisdom that ultimately comes with getting older, but the bad moments of my life don't seem quite as bad to me anymore. Sure, I have my bad moments, but they lead to good ones, great ones even.

I'm learning that the secret is to focus on the good moments, and not the bad ones. You will feel sad, you will feel defeated, you will lack motivation... but in the end, you will end up feeling motivated, renewed, and restored. And this week's song choice for Music Therapy with Miss Moon is one that I think really illustrates this point.

When I was around 11 or 12, the self-titled album from Swedish singer Titiyo was on heavy rotation on my little purple casio boombox. The album is pretty hard to come by nowadays, but I still remember the songs quite vividly. When thinking of a song that really puts me in mind to the waxing and waning nature of our emotions, I found myself thinking of today's song choice. So I hope you all will listen to and enjoy "After the Rain"!!

We all know that feeling
when nothing is going your way, no
I can see that you're on the edge of crying
and not at all in the mood to play

You can't sleep at night
and you're tired all day long
and you are getting numbers
but you don't know why

When times are getting rough
it all seems very hard
the best is yet to come

You gotta remember
After the rain
The sun always appears
You gotta remember
After the rain
The sun always appears shining on you

Things are going on
Outside your door
Don't you know, all your friends are waiting
And you can't hide no more

Stop waisting your time
Get yourself together
The best is yet to come

You gotta remember
After the rain
The sun always appears
You gotta remember
After the rain
The sun always appears shining on you

So many days
That have gone to waist
Don't you know that the expression on your face
Doesn't suit you at all

You gotta remember
After the rain
The sun always appears
You gotta remember
After the rain
It will shine on you
You gotta remember
After the rain
The sun always appears
You gotta remember
After the rain
The sun always appears shining on you

A Little [EARL GREYHOUND] for a Saturday Night

Happy Saturday, Lovely Friends! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend thus far. I am in a rockin' ass mood tonight, so I had to share some good and true rock music with all of you. I have loved this band with a passion since first discovering their song "Shotgun", which still is on heavy rotation here at Casa di Miss Moon. As I am slowly discovering more of their music, Earl Greyhound still continues to impress me. So I hope you all too will be impressed by their song, "S.O.S"....Enjoy!!

Wanna Wanna Wednesday.... Old Navy's Women's Plus Activewear

Happy Wednesday, everybody!!! I'm back with some more ::drool-worthy:: items that I of course wanna wanna wanna!!

I've been adamantly refusing to shop for clothing lately, because of my rapidly diminishing waistline, but I do believe that the time has come to invest in some new activewear. Because I am very proud of the fact that I no longer wear a size 3X and all of my workout clothes are that size.

And for me personally, the first place I always go is Old Navy. Their Women's Plus activewear is inexpensive, great for working out and (most importantly) super duper cute!!! There are three pieces I've got my eye on, so instead of picking just one I have opted to be a bit greedy and share all three with you!!

Women's Plus Active Molded Tanks in Cool Gradient ($17.97, Old Navy) I have a similar tank from Old Navy in Grey (Which can be seen here) and I love it with a passion. It fits like a dream and I can honestly say that it does keep the sweat off of your body. I wish they would come up with a face and neck mask!! LOL

Women's Plus Active Moisture-Wicking Tees in Aqueous ($24.94, Old Navy) I haven't tried any of their tees yet, but I am madly in love with this shade of blue and I am all about the moisture-wicking!!

Women's Plus Active Compression Pants in Carbon ($34.94, Old Navy) I have three pairs of these pants in Blackjack and I love them!! I find myself wearing them even when I am not taking my walks, simply for the fact that they look so damn cool.

:::drools::: Sofia Vergara-style for Plus Size Fashionistas

Happy Tuesday, everybody!! It's been a few weeks since I've brought you a plus size fashionistas post, and the moment I spotted this photo of Sofia Vergara walking the streets of New York City, I knew that I had to recreate this look!!

I love Sofia's style. I also love the fact that I cannot look at her without imitating her character in Madea Goes to Jail, "Brownies for my brownie!!!"... LOL

Most of you should know by now that I am all about cool and casual looks for everyday, and I think Sofia's look suits that to a tee! Check out how I recreated it:

Top: Flutter Sleeve Top ($24.99, eloquii)
Jeans: Dark-Wash Slim Flare Jeans ($19.00, Old Navy)
Necklace: Wooden Bead Necklace ($8.80, Forever21)
Bag: Kelly & Katie Lina Hobo ($39.95, DSW)
Shoes: Steve Madded Manngo ($79.95, Zappos)
Shades: Round Sunglasses ($5.80, Forever21)

What do you think of how I recreated this look? Would you rock it, or knock it?!?

Music Therapy with Miss Moon

" Don't watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going."
~ Sam Levenson

" Put blinders on to those things that conspire to hold you back, especially the ones in your own head."
~ Meryl Streep

Life is either a daring adventure, or it is nothing.
~ Helen Keller

I can honestly say that I thought I would be someplace different by now. When the year started, I was picking up the pieces of my life after walking away from an relationship and job that failed to fulfill me. I didn't think that July would come and I'd still be in the same place. And I admit, that I was feeling a bit bummed out about it.

I thought about it for a bit, and started to recognize something. I discovered something about myself. I am NOT where I was at the beginning of the year. Sure, I'm still unemployed and single. But I am so much happier than I've been in years. I'm a woman on a mission, and nothing can be more fulfilling than that!! The ideal job and a passionate romance will both come in its own time, but for now... I will put my focus and attention on keeping the joy and motivation going!!

Sir, please stop being so gorgeous.... Seriously, it's just plain mean!!! ::swoons::
I've been in a bit of a Bollywood mood lately, and got a tremendous boost from watching the heartwarming and inspiring film, "Chak! de India" (It's streaming on Netflix, check it out!). So today's bit of music therapy is the title song from the film. I've also included the lyrics in Hindi and English, because again, I'm fancy like that! LOL

I hope that it will make you feel like doing a Rocky training montage in your mind!!!

Kuch kariye kuch kariye nas nas meri khaule, hoy kuch kariye
Do something, with every part of you (every pore in your body), do something
Kuch kariye kuch kariye bas bas bada bole, ab kuch kariye
Do something, enough of all that big talk, now do something
Ho koi toh chal zid padiye, doobe tariye ya mariye (2)
Take a stand, either swim or die
Chak de chake de India (4)
C’mon India!

(Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
this is the time, just do or die)

Koochon mein galiyon mein, raashan ki phaliyon mein
In streets and lanes, in Ration lines
Bailon mein beejon mein, eidon mein teejon mein
In bullocks and seeds, in Eid and festivals
Reton ke daanon mein, filmon ke gaanon mein
In every grain of sand, and film songs
Sadkon ke gaddon mein, paaton.ke addon mein
In street ditches, in gatherings
Hunkara aaj bhar le, das barah baar kar le
Fill everything with a roar/ferver, not once but 10 times
Rehna na yaar peeche, kitna bhi koi kheenche
Don’t lag behind, even if you’re pulled back
Tas Hai Na Mas Hai Ji, Zid Hai Toh Zid Hai Ji
Don’t budge an inch, if you’re called stubborn so be it
Ghisna yunhi, pisna yunhi, pisna yunhi
Keep grinding on that grindstone
Bas kariye!
Just do it!

Ho Koi Toh Chal Zid Phadiye
Doobe Tariye Ya Mariye
Haye Koi Toh Chal Zid Phadiye
Doobe Tariye Ya Mariye
Chak De Ho Chak De India (4)

Nowhere To Run Nowhere To Hide
This Is The Time Just Do Or Die - (2)
Chak De (5)

Ladti Patangon Mein, Bhidti Umangon Mein
In tangled kites, in the joy of crowds
Khelon Ke Melon Mein, Balkhaati Railon Mein
In playgrounds, in winding trains
Gannon Ke Meethe Mein, Khaddar Mein Cheente Mein
In the sweetness of sugarcanes, in rich loam, in crops
Doondo To Mil Jaave/Jaye , Tapta Woh Eenton Mein
If you look hard enough you’ll find the heat needed to harden bricks (to toughen/strengthen you)
Tan Aisa Aaj Nikhre, Aur Kulke Aaj Pighle
Let your body glow and liquefy completely
Mann Laaye Aisi Holi, Rag Rag Machalke Boli
Fill your heart with celebration so that every part of you rejoices
Tas Hai Na Mas Hai Ji, Zid Hai Toh Zid Hai Ji
Don’t budge an inch, if you’re called stubborn so be it
Ghisna yunhi, pisna yunhi, pisna yunhi
Keep grinding on that grindstone
Bas kariye!
Just do it!

Koi Toh Chal Zid Phadiye
Doobe Tariye Ya Mariye
Haye Koi Toh Chal Zid Phadiye
Doobe Tariye Ya Mariye

A Little [STAPLES SINGERS] for a Saturday Night

It's another Saturday Night, and I am definitely in need of some sweet sounds tonight. And since I have yet to find a Staple Singers song that doesn't accomplish just that, I have selected a song from their extensive library. I have yet to encounter a song of theirs that didn't automatically make me fall in love... their harmonies that that effect on you!!

I hope you all will lay back and listen to their rendition of the Bob Dylan classic, "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall". Enjoy!!

Miss Moon Gets Healthy: June Stats

June was definitely a redeeming month for yours truly in regards to my Get Healthy plan! I successfully gave up meat for the entire month, embraced and conquered my 30 Day Green Smoothie challenge, and reached new heights with my walking!!!

71.9 miles is fantastic considering I dropped my daily walks down to once a day!! And I am very, very happy to announce the most exciting results of them all....

Not my most glamorous picture, but I'd just came back from a walk!

I've gone down TWO sizes from the beginning of the year, and have gone from a size 26 to a size 22!!!! My aim is to reach a size 18 by the end of the year, and if I continue on this path, I am confident that I can do it!!

The goal for July is to continue the Green Smoothie challenge (I'm loving it!!), keep walking (I will need some new sneakers, as I mentioned on the Miss Moon's Musings FaceBook page), keep motivated,  and keep pushing on to my goals!!!

D-I-Y Nappturaliciously: Ms. Mooch takes a BRAID-cation!!!

Hey y'all!!! Ms. Mooch is on BRAID-cation for the summer! Hooray!!! It's been two weeks since adding the braids to my hair (I know this post is long overdue, but from the picture above, you can see that I still had some allergy issues that haven't completely worked itself out! lol)

I started by making sure my hair and scalp was clean, using my usual regimen. The following day, once my hair was partially dry, I started braiding my hair.

This time around, I opted to use Miracle's Yaki Pony Hair, which I purchased from a Beauty Supply Store downtown Brooklyn.

I liked the color combination used, so I snatched up 8 bags of this hair. I couldn't wait to get started. Before applying each braid, I made sure that Ms. Mooch was super moisturized by applying Karen's Body Beautiful Beauty Boss 101 to each section of hair and the scalp.

8 hours later, I was finished and SHOCKED at how quickly I managed to get the job done. I opted to use smaller braids than I initially planned for, because I feared the larger braids would be too heavy.

So far, I am really loving how light they feel and the variety of styles I can work with!! I say that I CAN rock a variety of styles, but mostly I'm rocking a high bun.

It's great for when I take my walks!! Synthetic hair + Neck + Summer + Physical Activity = HOT!!! LMAO

The view of the braids from behind!!

So what do you think? Is Ms. Mooch's BRAID-cation a win or a fail?!?!?

Music Therapy with Miss Moon

" Every rejection is incremental payment on your dues that in some way will be translated back into your work."
~ James Lee Burke

" Life's blows cannot break a person whose spirit is warmed at the fire of enthusiasm."
~ Norman Vincent Peale

" Do not waste yourself in rejection; do not bark against the bad, but chant the beauty of the good."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

" In so far as one denies what is, one is possessed by what is not, the compulsions, the fantasies, the terrors that flock to fill the void."
~ Ursula K. Le Guin

"Boy, am I GLAD for that CRUSHING rejection!" Said no one. Ever. In this lifetime, as well as the rest of time! Rejection sucks. Period.

I recently went on a job interview that really changed my attitude about rejection and about the disappointment that generally comes along with it. The day before, I received an email expressing interest in my application, along with an invitation to come to their offices the next morning to discuss the position. I immediately emailed a response, expressing gratitude for their interest, confirmed my attendance and quickly readied myself for the next day's interview.

This generally means taking off my usual blue nail polish in favor of one more interview-friendly, ironing my interview clothes and making sure I have copies of my resume and references printed out.

The next day, I got up, showered, got dressed and shelled out $2.25 on my Metrocard to make it to their Lexington Avenue offices. When I walked in to greet the woman I was scheduled to meet with, I got the immediate "needle scratch" vibe from her. The look on her face spoke volumes. I was obviously not who she thought would accompany my resume. Whether it's my race, my size, my appearance, I don't know. And frankly, I don't care.

I traveled 45 minutes to get to the interview a few minutes early and ended up spending a total of 12 minutes in which I spoke briefly about my experience and my background. I've had enough experience with interviews to recognize that 12 minutes is not sufficient time to get to know a candidate, and that her decision to speak so briefly further illustrated her decision I was not her ideal choice. Despite her total disinterest, I sat in the chair with my back straight and head held high, and used my 12 minutes to speak about what would make me an ideal candidate. I knew it was like speaking to a brick wall, but I made the conscious choice to continue, if only to affirm my strengths in my own voice so that it's heard and sent out there into the Universe.

I am creative, hard-working, fun, and will be a very valuable asset to some lucky company someday soon. I hope that the company I interviewed with finds what they were looking for, as I know I will find the right opportunity for myself.

When I made it home (Another $2.25 on the Metrocard and another 45 minutes on the train), I sent the woman I interviewed with a thank you email, expressing gratitude. Frankly, I wasn't grateful for her rudeness, I was grateful for her being the conduit of an important life lesson. I sent the email with the vow that a) If I'm ever in the position to have to interview an employee, I will always remember that they invested time and money for the interview and should be treated with grace as a result, and b) that I am a kick ass employee and I will put my creativity and drive into the best suited position for me!!

I celebrated this newly rediscovered affirmation of my own awesomeness with today's song pick for Music Therapy with Miss Moon. The song is a rejection anthem in terms of romance, but I think it can apply to any situation where you feel rejected, and not respected. I hope you all will join me in head banging and fist pumping to "I Love Myself Today", by Bif Naked.

You left me like a broken doll
In pieces as I took the fall
for you, you dumb chump!
You left me free-falling like space junk
Burning up in the atmosphere of life

Well I sound like a philosopher
but I'm a fool who's off her rocker
'Cause I let you in my heart that one last time

I've had enough, made up my mind
I'm gonna get up and out and wahhh!

I love myself today
Not like yesterday
I'm cool, I'm calm
I'm gonna be okay! Uh huh
I love myself today
Not like yesterday
Take another look at me now
'Cause it's your last look
Your last look forever

Well look at you you're all puffed up
In that big red truck- but you're outta luck (this time)
Well, that's tough
'Cause I'm on fire- too hot to touch
with a chatroom full of lovers on the line
Gonna step right up. Spit shine my soul
I'm gonna be proud and loud and outta control!

I love myself today
Not like yesterday
I'm cool, I'm calm
I'm gonna be okay! Uh huh
I love myself today
Not like yesterday
Take another look at me now
'Cause it's your last look
Your last look forever

I'm lookin' in the mirror and I like what I see:
I've lost the fear and the horror that's been eating at me
'Cause being with you is like a hangman's noose
I was living my life in dead man's shoes

I've had enough. Made up my mind
I'm gonna get up and out and wahhh!

I love myself today
Not like yesterday
I'm cool, I'm calm
I'm gonna be okay! Uh huh
I love myself today
Not like yesterday
Take another look at me now

I love myself today
Not like yesterday
You're dead and gone
I'm gonna get my way
I love myself today
Not like yesterday
Take another look at me now
'Cause it's your last look
Your last look forever!!

I love myself today
I love myself today
I love myself today
I love myself today
I love myself today
I love myself today
I love myself today
