Let's Talk Tresses Friday: Your Top 5 "Stranded on a Desert Island" Products

Vacationing can be tough. You and your friends hop on a boat for a simple three hour tour.... and the next thing you know? You're stranded! LOL

If you were lucky enough to have five of your all time favorite hair staples with you on the island with the Professor and 'em.... How awesome would that be? For me, my Top 5 "Stranded on a Desert Island" products would include:

My Denman D3 Brush - Sure I could probably fashion a brush out of a coconut shell, but really... Señor Denman (As I affectionately call my brush) does the job just fine!

Oyin Handmade's Burnt Sugar Pomade - Purely for the way it smells and the way it makes my hair go "Oooooh"!!

Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey and Healthy Hair Butter.. these two products are the O.G.s in my Natural Hair Care Arsenal... I don't stray far from them!

Karen's Body Beautiful Luscious Locks Hair Mask - Yessss! Just.... Yesssss!

What would be the items you have with you? Leave a comment with your pick and why you chose it!

  1. If I've got olive oil & conditioner I'm good. I don't even need 5. I'm a simple girl. . .lol

  2. I like the way you think, girl!!! Plus on a desert island there is bound to be coconuts, papaya and other good stuff for the hair! :)

  3. black soap shampoo: Praises Enterprises used to make it and I swear to God that was the best shampoo ever!! When I had loose hair it made my hair so cottony soft. I don't think they make it anymore but I'd bring a big chunk of pure black soap & wash my hair with that. Plus you can use it on the body and is great for eczema.

lemongrass oil: for keeping the scalp moisturized and I just love the smell of lemongrass in my hair.

a wide tooth comb/brush: whether it's that Ouidad double detangler or some other comb, I need something to keep the curls organized. That is whenever I take down my locs, lol

hair sunscreen: don't know of a brand yet, so my hair doesn't get bleached.

a clarifying shampoo: to keep it clean from all the product buildup.

I could think of lots more, but I'm sure I could come up with something from the natural products on the island, lol
