Music Therapy with Miss Moon

Here's a little secret about me. When I am having a day from hell, there is one song that never ceases to lift my spirits and makes me smile. And I truly had such a day today... so much so, that I was at Food Town checking out the bottles of cheap wine.

I am proud to say that I didn't succumb to the urge to drown my anxiety in vino. I instead bought a lovely bouquet of flowers for my bedroom, my dinner (a bowl of yogurt), some green apples (for my honey to juice in his juicer)and some Kettle Cooked All-Natural BBQ Potato Chips (which are delicious as hell!).

So I am sitting at home, drinking green apple juice and listening to this song... A song that I cannot explain my love for. All I know is that it soothes the savage beast that is a tired Customer Service Representative! LOL

I hope you will enjoy this AWESOME Sims 2 version of Tony Orlando & Dawn's "Knock Three Times"... don't judge me! LMAO

Miss Moon's Musing About: My 33rd Birthday Gift List

My Mum has a little ritual that I really admire. On her birthday, she buys herself a very special birthday present. I am sure many people do this, but astonishingly, I have never ever purchased a gift for myself. And this year, in 16 days to be exact, I will be turning 33... which I have learned is a very significant year.

In numerology, 33 is a Master Number, representing the Master Healer. Of the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah, Number 33 is al-Azim, the Supreme Glory, the Most Grand. Jesus Christ is believed to have been either 30 or 33 years old when He died. Many Christians consider the "perfect age" to be 33. Saint Joseph was 33 years old when he married with the Virgin Mary, according to visions of Mary Agreda.

So I have decided to get myself three very special birthday presents this year, to incorporate this self-loving birthday ritual into my life.... Three is a magic number, of course! And of course, I thought to share my would-be goodies with you!!

My first gift is the Maasai Beaded Bangle from Rachel Stewart Jewelry. I think Rachel rocks and I've been stalking her jewelry (not to mention her DOPE AS HELL blog) for a while now. I love the idea of rocking a couple of these bangles with an all black ensemble for a splash of color. Imagine the bracelets and a bright red lip? Fierce!!!!

My second selection is the Lykke Likes Cocoa Agate Hair Combs from Peace Images. I've been wanting to experiment with hair combs for awhile, and I cannot think of a better way to get started!!!

Last, but not least, I am head over heels in love with the Togo Teal Scarf v2 from Casa di Culture. Lime green jersey knit on one side, Wax Batik print on the other.... fierce and fabulous for winter? You betcha!!!!

I plan on not only buying these gifts for myself.. but wrapping the presents, so that I will have them to open on my actual birthday. I am going to buy very nice wrapping paper and a card for myself that expresses my blessings for my 33rd year. It all begins with me, and I am really happy about actively loving myself!!!

Like many people I know, I am a firm believer of the Law of Attraction. I recognize that I manifest every little thing that I encounter in my life... the good and the bad. And I have worked on myself to be a vibrational match to all of the good things I want in my life, and I have brought a lot of circumstances into my life that have been truly miraculous.

I stumbled across this video today, and it opened my eyes to the way I was perceiving the creation process. The video is a load of laughs, as well!

Like the gentleman in this clip, I always wondered why it took so long for me to manifest... My attitude was like "I feel good, I know it's on its way.... so when the eff is it going to show up?!!?!" LOL My Grandmother used to say that a watched pot never boils, and in my opinion, such is the case with deliberately creating what you want.

In reflecting on this newfound knowledge, I was reminded of Christmas Eve. When I was a kid, it was SOOO HARD to go to sleep on Christmas Eve, because I was excited about what was to the come in the morning when I woke up. I would walk into the living room, and see our tree, bask in the beauty of the lights.... and then feast my eyes on the bounty of toys before me. Sure, excitement played a large part in why I couldn't get to sleep, but I only just discovered that a lot of it was trying to make myself feel good about what's to come.

Even when I grew older and realized the truth about Santa, I would nonetheless feel that excitement on Christmas Eve.. looking forward to exchanging gifts, to see if my Mum brought me the C.D. I wanted or the hoop earrings I dropped hints about.

Somewhere in my twenties, I stopped feeling that sleepless excitement. Sure, I still love Christmas, and exchanging gifts with the family and enjoying each other's company, but I sleep securely on Christmas Eve knowing that the day to come will be a good one.

I realize now that I have to take that same approach to manifesting and bringing what I want into my life. In watching this clip, the quote that truly resonated to me was:

"You can feel when you're in the vortex... because when you're in the vortex, you're happy. When you're in the vortex you feel more sure. When you're in the vortex, you're frisky. When you're in the vortex, you just want to breathe deeply. When you're in the vortex, you're glad to be alive. When you're in the vortex, IT DOESN'T MATTER that is hasn't manifested, because when you're in the vortex, you're in sync with all of your power."

This week, I am going to rest peacefully, knowing that everything I want in life is already on its way, and I am going to feel fantastic about where I am today, because I am connected to my power!!!

A Little [ELLINGTON & COLTRANE] for a Saturday Night

Initially I was going to take a break from the slow jams and post something a little more upbeat for this particular Saturday Night selection. But a crippling migraine and an especially trying evening has my soul crying out for something soothing.

Thank you Bill Cosby, for playing this song and wooing Phylicia Rashad on "The Cosby Show"... implanting into my prepubescent mind that love can be calm and gentle. I hope that "In a Sentimental Mood" by Duke Ellington and John Coltrane will give you that same gentle feeling tonight. Enjoy!
