::drools:: Sweet Spring Dresses (And Skirts!!)

One of my favorite things about spring (Hey, that kinda rhymed! lol) is that the warmer weather begs for me to chuck my pants aside for a spell and rock dresses. I loooooove dresses. Funny thing is, I used to love skirts equally, but I haven't worn one in ages. This spring I've been inspired to reclaim my love of skirts.

I've assembled a group of dresses and skirts that I think are perfect for Spring. Enjoy!!

Clockwise, from left:

Women's Plus Braid-Trim Jersey Maxi Dresses ($42.94, Old Navy)
Women's Plus Tiered Floral-Print Skirts ($32.94, Old Navy)
Floral Surplice Dress ($22.80, Forever 21)
Floral Print Dress ($65.00, Simply Be)
Exclusive Vintage Print Sweetheart Neck Dress ($62.76, Asos)
High Waist Flare Skirt ($110.00, Jibri)

I've been obsessed with the High Waist Flare Skirt from Jibri ever since I saw Chastity Garner from The Curvy Girl's Guide to Style rocking it in her amazing blog. I'm on a serious budget right now, but I am saving up to get one. It may not be for the spring, but I will be rocking this come summer, quote me on that!! LOL

Will you be rocking dresses and skirts now that the weather's getting warmer. Where are you shopping?!?!?

:::drools::: Dress Fancy with LucieLu!!!

Much to my surprise (and my Mum's delight!) I have rediscovered a love for wearing dresses. I've always been a slacks kinda girl, but lately, I've been incorporating more dresses into the mix, and have enjoyed wearing them!

I discovered Lucie Lu online and have instantly been enamored with their clothing (not to mention the very reasonable prices!!) Here are a few of my favorites:

Frankie Dress, $64.00 in sizes 1x (14/16) to 5x (30)

Audra Dress (Teal), $42.00 (This dress is currently only available in a 1x)

Honor Dress (Amethyst), $52.00 in sizes 1x (14/16) to 5x (30)... check out the back, y'all!

Despite loving the selection of dresses on LucieLu, I believe that my first purchase will be this, as I've been stalking it online for about a week now:

Sail Away Skirt, $34.00 in sizes, 1x-5x

I think it appeals to the Pirate Sistah in me! Aaargh!!

I'm REALLY Diggin': Solange's Spin-Worthy Dress from Boxing Kitten!!

This dress is so remarkably beautiful!! And Miss Solange is looking fabulous, and so happy! I would love to hear her spin, she needs to bring her skills to NYC!!!

The dress is from Boxing Kitten and it's called Tam Tam (After the Josephine Baker movie, "Princess Tam Tam"... which is dope as hell!)

According to their online store, the dress is $315 and is available in sizes 2-10. I emailed them to inquire if they could make their designs for plus sized fans. I will be sure to email a update if and when I receive a response from them.

In the meantime Nakimuli Inc.'s True Essence Dress is very similar and is available in sizes 1x-3x

UPDATE -  I received the following response from Boxing Kitten:

"Thanks for your interest in Boxing Kitten! We appreciate your suggestion and will take it under advisement. At this time however the largest size we carry is 12. Thanks again!"

Let's hope they consider it. In the meantime, Nakimuli's dress is cheaper and its available in plus sizes!

:::drools::: Nicole Ritchie-style for Plus Size Fashionistas

If it's summer and it's Saturday... you can't go wrong with a maxi dress and a denim jacket. I simply adore Nicole Ritchie's style, and I love how the vibrant purple of the maxi dress really pops beneath the denim jacket!!

Recreating this look (of course) begins with finding a kick-ass maxi dress. I selected the Black and Multi Gardenia Print Maxi Dress ($78.00, Torrid)

Like Nicole's, this dress has a smocked elastic empire waist. I also like the fact that the staps are adjustable.

I topped the dress off with the Coastal Blues Denim Jacket ($39.90, Avenue)

Inspired by the laid back style of the coast, this jacket comes in Dark Wash or Medium Wash.

And because I am getting in the habit of being super meticulous about providing you with complete wardrobe selections, I did not forget about her flip-flops or her shades!

For the flip-flops, you can't beat the Women's Embellished Sling-Back Flip-Flops ($9.50, Old Navy).

I chose the flip flops in orchid, but if you are interested in the brown shade Nicole's rocking, these shoes are also available in Brown Floral that's similar.

And finally, if you don't feel like wearing Ray Bans, you can always finish this ensemble with the Purple Lucky Star Sunglasses ($15.00, Torrid)

:::drools::: Sweet Spring Dresses!!!

Although we are several months away until Spring (Damn you, Punxsutawney Phil!), I've been checking out Spring fashions with excitement at the thought of warmer weather. This will be a new fashion blog for me, as I will be showcasing dresses in all sizes! Enjoy and remember... try to drool AWAY from your keyboard! lol

Alyssa Shirt Dress ($44.50, Delia*s)

I love this dress for it's simplicity!! Swiss-dot cap-sleeved shirt dress with shirring and button detail. Be sure to check it out in Purple and Teal!!!!

Mlle Gabrielle Daffodil Dress ($39.00, Alight)

This dress is SOOOOOOOO on my "to buy" list for the Spring! Surplice neck runs into empire smocked elastic waistband. Lined.

Boho Dress ($79.20, ShopBop.com)

I am loving this gorgeous asymmetrical maxi dress. I'm actually jealous of my slimmer sistren because this is not in my size! LOL

 Denim Puff-Sleeved Dress ($48.00, Torrid)

I call these "Weekday Dresses": Nice enough to wear to work and cute enough to wear After 5 pm.

SIDE NOTE: I am not obsessed, but I am little bit dorky about this Torrid model. She is pretty much my weight loss and hair growth goal in human form! lol

And I love this last dress primarily because it comes in sizes XS through XXXL.... so my girls big and small can rock this!

Embroidered Empire-Waist Dress ($39.90 - $41.90, Alloy)

This is number two on my "Must Buy" list.. I'd like to get them in two of the three colors this dress comes in (Black, Ivory, & Purple)
