Wanna Wanna Wednesdays... Luxor Couture's Dashiki Fabric Print Purse
So last week when I was scouring Etsy for the most recent installment of my Afro-licious finds from Etsy, I stumbled across this bag. And I have to admit... I stopped everything I was doing to stare longingly at this bag for a couple of minutes. Okay, like fifteen minutes. Make it thirty! lol
This bag ($100.00, Luxor Couture - Etsy) is not cheap, but it's certainly gorgeous and it's certainly on my Wanna Wanna Wanna wish list. Imagine rocking this with a pair of jeans and blazer? How about with a cute little sundress come summer? The options are endless!!
What say you all on the Dashiki Fabric Print Purse? Would you rock it or knock it? If you're a-rockin'... how would you dress to wear it?

Wanna Wanna Wednesdays... Deena & Ozzy Zip-Stitch Moto Satchel
Believe me when I say that I am still madly in love with *THE* Bag, I have to retire it for the winter, because it's really more of a warm weather bag.
So it's with this in mind that I am presently drooling over this week's Wanna Wanna Wednesday item ($49.00, Urban Outfitters). I think this bag would be great for my after work walks, and its fly as hell!!

Wanna Wanna Wednesday... Global Girlfriend's Ugandan Organic Waxcloth Shoulder Bag
There has been massive discussion all over the internet these past few months about Joseph Kony, and I think everyone can agree that there needs to be a lot of change to take place in Uganda. But his removal (along with central Africa's other warlords) does not amount to much if nothing is done to change the generations of discrimination, violence, widespread poverty, displacement, not to mention no access to education, health care, and justice. Surely, this is the catalyst for people like Joseph Kony to come to power in the first place.
This is why this week's item I wanna wanna wanna is very special. The Ugandan Organic Waxcloth Shoulder Bag ($28.00, Global Girlfriend) is crafted with hand-printed Ugandan waxcloth. And because it's handmade by women artisans, your purchase helps to improve their lives... as well as those of their families and community.
Coming in both Black and Blue (Guess which color I want?!? lol), I can totally see myself rocking this during the summer with jeans or a killer maxi dress. With a slouchy design that lets you fit what you need for a weekend day out, this delightful cotton bag also has a spacious interior pocket to keep your important items from getting lost in the bottom. But what's even more beautiful than the bag itself is that by purchasing a TOTALLY KICK ASS BAG... you can help the efforts of people making a peaceful living in the wake of armed conflict, helping them recover from the nightmare of stolen childhoods. Your purchase of this bag and other products from groups like One Mango Tree, which rehabilitates former LRA members, you are directly helping people changes their lives and communities.

I SWEAR I'm not Obsessed (But I AM a Little Dorky) About....
THIS...... HANDBAG.......

Can you all believe that I have not purchased a single handbag since my Quest for *THE* Bag almost a year ago? No Jive!!
I decided to go on a handbag fast after that, because I found myself with a closet of handbags that I was NOT using. Last spring, many of the bags were donated and I avoided temptation with no slip ups (I didn't even get any of the bags after my back went out!!!).... until today! LOL
I spotted this beauty on the arm of a woman at the Tracy Reese and JRT Multimedia “Shop for a Cause” event in NYC, featured on Essence Magazine Online.

This beautiful bag is from Coach, and sadly, that's all I know about it. I have a sinking suspicion that it's one of their "Audrey" bags, and that kinda seals the deal for me. I mean, if the bag, LITERALLY has my name attached it is.... I must find out! And I must have this bag. So I hereby crack this bottle of Absolute Brooklyn on the side of this blog and christen Quest for *THE* Bag 2011!! LMAO
Any information you may have about this bag, please leave a comment or shoot me a line!

:::drools::: Shoulder - Sparing Crossbody Handbags (POLL- Vote for Your Favorite!!))
So, as I mentioned in a previous post, I have a pinched nerve in my left shoulder. This pain is so severe that it's causing blinding migraines that occur when bending, standing, or even leaning over. No bueno.
My doctor believes that the prime suspect of this pain is my super, super heavy handbag. Taking her advice, I feng shui'd my purse, removing all but the necessities. I also removed what felt like $1,000 worth of coins from my wallet. Sadly, it didn't do much to improve the heaviness of the bag.
I thought about it, and considered it might be time to leave the shoulder bags alone for a while and opt for a crossbody bag instead. Since I'm home sick and can't even enjoy the television (It's crazy for me to get pain from movement on the t.v.!!!), I decided that, with my laptop on the lowest lighting possible for visibility!) I would checkout crossbody bags online. I have narrowed it down to three choices, and I want YOU to decide for me!!!
Here are the options:

Option A: Nine West Central Time Crossbody Bag ($43.99, Macy's)
I chose this bag because it looks like 75% of my shoulder bags, black with some type of zipper detail. I also thought that is would be a good, sensible bag for everyday.

Option B: Navy Studded Crossbody Bag ($26.00, Torrid)
This bag is FIIIIIIIIIIYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! I love the blue, I love the studs, and I love the fact that it has that back pocket (Perfect for a MetroCard)!!

Option C: Fossil Ari Crossbody Bag ($87.99, Macy's)
I love the colors in this bag, but I am not so keen on the price. I can't justify spending that amount of money (which is the sale price, I might add!) on a purse that I'll wear for a few months until my back is up to snuff and then every once and while!

I am thinking I will wait until I get 25 votes and then make my purchase based on the most popular pick!! Be sure to check in a few weeks for a follow up email...Thanks for voting!

Quest for *THE* Bag: Is OVER.... For Now!
I found a site online that sells designer replicas and managed to find a knock off of *THE* Bag.... but I decided not to get it.
Armed with a 15% off coupon, I ended up purchasing the BCBG Max Azria 'Urban Rock' Leather Hobo Bag from Overstock.com
I fell in love with this deep dark chocolate color and came to the conclusion that this will be *THE* Bag of my dreams... until I hit lotto! LOL

I SWEAR I'm not Obsessed (But I AM a Little Dorky) About....
Oh, hella... who am I kidding? I am TOTALLY obsessed with what I call *The* handbag. It has become an obsession of mine that has me searching the four corners of the Universe (well, the four corners of the Internet) to find.
Of course I first saw the bag on "Girlfriends"*....

*I got the picture by pausing the DVD and using my BlackBerry. Ghetto as hell, I know.. but you get the idea! LOL
So far, I've discovered that *The* Bag is from Gucci and that its a black leather horsebit hobo. Now, with that information, I know that there is NO WAY IN HELL I will be rocking the same bag anytime soon (I am hardly a lawyer-turned-restaurateur), but it has become my new mission to find a reasonable facsimile for someone making Customer Service Representative money! LOL
I've decided to chronicle my search with a new blog post called ::::drumroll, please::::: Quest for *THE* Bag.. so this entry is actually a crossover blog, as it's a "I SWEAR I'm not Obsessed" and also the first entry for Quest for *THE* Bag... Hooray! My first crossover!!!
In my search, I discovered a better picture of what I think is *THE* Bag, courtesy of Jessica Simpson and the folks at CelebrityArmCandy.com --
Of course any information any of my readers have that will lead me closer to *THE* Bag for insanely cheap (or an insanely identical knock off) would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

:::drools::: No Jive... I'm Batty for Bags!!!
If you've read this blog at least three times, you know it's no surprise that I am a total bag-a-holic. I wouldn't dare deny it!
So I am currentlystalking checking out three particular bags online, and thought that I would share the goodies (you know how I do!):
FREECITY Life Nature Love Bag ($28.00, ShopBop)
Fans of the show "Girlfriends' may recognize the name Free City. Tracee Ellis Ross' character Joan was frequently seen wearing Free City tees on the show. Since their largest size is a Small... I figured the handbag would be good too! LOL
I am loving this style: it's simple yet very chic.
So I am currently
Snake in the Bluegrass Handbag ($39.00, Lulu's)
I am so diggin on this faux-snake skin bag!!!

I SWEAR I'm not Obsessed (But I AM a Little Dorky) About....

I've admittedly been talking a lot about Miss Tracee Ellis Ross lately, and I assure you I'm no Stan (Just a Fan!). Like I mentioned in a previous blog, this year I've decided to revamp my personal style and adopted her as my icon. This involves me doing a lot of research, checking out photos of Tracee and noting outfits of hers that I really dug!
I am such a bag addict, and decided when I received my first paycheck that I would go out and get a new purse. One that was inexpensive, stylish and one that I can rock at work and hanging out on the weekends. So after searching all of my favorite websites, not to mention dragging Chris ALL UP AND DOWN Fulton Street...I could not find anything.
I thought to myself, "Maybe it's time to check out Tracee..." and see what handbags she's been spotted with. I immediately google'd pictures of Tracee Ellis Ross and spotted this one that I completely went cuckoo over. This bag is DOOOOOPE!
I seldom look on Lulus.com, primarily because they don't have plus sizes, but I thought to give them a little look-see, and was overjoyed to discover the Big City Handbag in Black.
From Lulu's: Our Big City Handbag in Black will even make your subway ride stylish! With its crinkly faux leather exterior and decorative silver knobs and belt buckles, this bag knows how make you look good. One zip pocket can be found on the front exterior while top of bag zips open to reveal one small zip pocket and two open compartments atop a simple beige lining. Large portfolio pocket with zipper divides the interior. Carry bag by its twin handles or clip on the shoulder strap before you hit the streets. Measures 16" wide, 10" tall, and approximately 4.5" deep. Handles measure 17" long. Man made materials. Imported.
And it was a great bargain @ $48.00 (I shudder to think what TER's bag cost!) so I GOT IT!!! WHOOO HOO! It's currently en route to me, and I will be sure to post pictures when I get it. But really... I SWEAR I'm not Obsessed (But I AM a Little Dorky) about it!!!
Peace from Brooklyn!!!

:::drools::: Crazy Cute Clutches!!!
Handbags are my guilty pleasure. I won't even tell y'all how many bags I own, suffice to say that they are hanging everywhere in my room and in my closet. LOL
My taste in bags tends to dwell in hobo-bohemian land, but lately, I've been dying to try out small bags and clutches, just because I think they are classy, beautiful and feminine. Here are a few that have recently caught my eye:

The Bahama Mama Clutch in Blue ($30, Lulu's) is sooo me. I love that it is really summer-y and colorful, but can be used year round for a gorgeous splash of color. The cool thing is that you can slip the clutch around your wrist with the turquoise leather belt loop on the side, which is perfect for newbies like me, not used to carrying clutches.

Another great option for first-timers like me is the Bag Habits Clutch ($59, Nine West)Patent fold over clutch with contrast trim, nylon lining and double pockets. This clutch can also be used as a small tote.

Kimchi Blue Suede Ruffle Clutch ($68, Urban Outfitters) is a big bag in a small frame. It has a lined main compartment with internal organizer pocket and cell phone/mp3 holder.

This L.A.M.B. Angel Madeline clutch ($153, Zappos)is perfect for going out at night. It's cute as hell and I am loving the sparkling color combination! I just wish that Gwen Stefani would consider her full figured fans out there. If she did, I might consider shelling out this much money for a bag.. especially when I know there's an outfit to match!

This clutch by Ellie Tahari ($290.14, Zappos)is one I call a "Joan Bag" (translation: handbag similar to the type worn by the Tracee Ellis Ross character on "Girlfriends"). It's pretty pricey, but still a very cute bag.
