We've had one super-cold week here in New York City and already I am ready for Spring to arrive! Did the groundhog see it's shadow last week?!? I need to look that up! LOL
In an effort to hasten the arrival of warmer weather, I have selected an outfit from the fabulous Elle Varner and revamped it... full figured fashionista style. With shades of tangerine and turquoise... this colorful ensemble will definitely keep the mind away from the cold and grey of winter.

:::drools::: Nicole Richie-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
So yeah, I know... I haven't done a Plus Size Fashionistas post in a while. The truth is, I haven't been all that inspired by celebrity fashion as of late. But I assure you all, that the moment I see something that knocks my socks off, I will be sure to attempt to recreate the look for a post. Which leads me to...
How cute and simple is this outfit.. I love the different colors, the bag and the sunnies. I decided to revamp this look a bit to make it more weather-friendly. Here's what I've come up with:
Sweater: Striped Boucle Sweater ($22.80, Forever 21)
Jeans: Lola Slim Leg Jeans ($65.00, Simply Be)

Bag: Cute Snakeskin Clutch ($35.00, Lulu's)
Sunglasses: Ricky Business Sunglasses ($12.00, Urban Outfitter)
I think this outfit is a great burst of color for the winter. Where would you rock this look?

:::drools::: La La Anthony-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
As much as I love La La Anthony's style when at glitzy parties or on the red carpet, I must say with all sincerity, I love her style BEST when she is just on the go! I attribute this to her impeccable cute and casual looks... which as we all know, I'm Miss Cute and Casual!! LOL
When I spotted this outfit of La La recently, I knew immediately that I wanted to not only revamp this look for my plus size fashionistas, but I wanted to transition this look from a sweet summer ensemble to a fabulous fall one. Did I succeed? Let's see! Here's what I came up with:

:::drools::: Paula Patton-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
Can you believe it's been over a month since my last Plus Size Fashionistas post?!? I'll tell you, having a cracked laptop screen was no fun at all... it was very difficult to manuever to be creative with my posts!! Fortunately I have a new (to me) laptop that I'm having a blast with thus far... and you all get to reap the benefits, because I have recreated Paula Patton's adorable outfit for my full figured friends out there.
Paula's dress is actually from Kova and T Georgina, and can be purchased for a pretty darn reasonable price for readers who have to have it's polkadotted glory! For those of us who need something a bit more suited for our curves, here's my remix of her look:

:::drools::: Kajol-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
This may come as a huge shock to you all, but I am a HUGE fan of Hindi cinema. I know, I will give you a moment to let that startling revelation sink in! LOL
For me, the queen of Bollywood is Kajol. She is lovely, strong, real, and she acts her ass off. Most people have celebrities they consider "friends in their heads". For me, Kajol is more than a friend, she's family! I call her a "cousin in my head"! LOL
So when I decided to do a fashion post on cousin Kajol, I didn't have to look far to find a terrific outfit to recreate.
This dress is EVERYTHING!!! Blue? Check. Dramatic sleeve? Check. Sexy? Check. Here's my remix:
Dress: R&M Richards Plus Size Dress, Three Quarter Flutter Sleeve One Shoulder Beaded Cocktail Dress ($109.00, Macy's)
Earrings: Fringed Flower Earrings ($4.80, Forever 21)
Shoes: Nine West Hansel Pumps ($62.99, Zappos)
So friends? What do you think of this outfit? Leave a comment with how you think I did in recreating the look?

:::drools::: Ashley Madekwe-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
I haven't done a plus size fashionistas post in awhile, I know. Please know that just because I'm on my Get Healthy path with a vengeance, it doesn't mean in the least bit that I don't love love LOVE recreating celebrity fashions for my full-figured sistren!
The honest reason why I haven't posted yet, is because I've been dying to do a outfit remix featuring leopard and/or camo print jeans!!! I love that look, and while scores of celebrities have been seen rocking them, they weren't women I'd necessarily want to feature in my blog. Not being mean, I'm just really am particular about who I give my energy to. And to me, dedicating time to locating photographs, and recreating outfits is giving away my energy!
Enter actress/blogger/fashionista/friend-in-my-head Ashley Madekwe of ABC's "Revenge" (Did y'all check out that season finale?!? I thought my head was going to explode!!). I have blogged about how much I dig her style before, but I literally said "Yes!!" when I viewed her recent blog post, "London Calling". Why? Because she's rocking the hell out of some leopard print jeans, of course!!!
It's like she's saying in this picture, "Oh you want to do a post about leopard print jeans, Audrey? I've got your back, girl!!" LOL
And the great thing about this outfit, aside from the fact that's it's effin' FLY... is that one of the items Ashley's wearing is totally something we can purchase to recreate the look... without our lights being cut off! LOL Here's what I've come up with:
I am really really liking this outfit. If those jeans ever come down in price at Lane Bryant (It's been MORE than a few months, LB! Get with it!), you might see me rocking a variation of this look!
Be sure to visit Ashley's blog, http://ashley-ringmybell.blogspot.com/. Seriously, it's dope!!!

:::drools::: Drew Barrymore-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
Yes! It's time for another plus size fashionistas post! This week, I am recreating a very VA VA VA VOOM look, courtesy of Drew Barrymore!!
How much do I love this look? Even though its not overloaded with accessories, the vibrant pop of color on her lips and toes really brightens up what would be a simple monochromatic look!!!
Drew's gorgeous dress is courtesy of Narciso Rodriguez, but I managed to find a similar dress that is not only curvy girl friendly, but significantly less expensive... And it's equally as fantastic!! Here's what I've come up with:
Dress: AGB Plus Size Dress, Sleeveless Striped Side Tie ($68.00, Macy's)
Earrings: Chain Fringe Earrings ($5.80, Forever 21)
Bracelet: Pieces Gyppa Bracelet ($16.36, ASOS)
Shoes: Jessica Simpson Shoes, Halie Platform Pumps ($89.00, Macy's)
To complete the look, be sure to rock a bold red lip!! You can't go wrong with MAC's Ruby Woo, CoverGirl's Lip Perfection Lip Color in Hot, and last but not least, Loreal's Colour Riche Lipcolour in British Red.

:::drools::: Solange Knowles-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
Hooray! It's the first (and probably not the last!) Solange Knowles inspired post of 2012! I made it to March without recreating one of her outfits. How's THAT for self-control?!? LOL
When I saw this photo of Solange spinning at the grand opening of the Miu Miu store in Houston, I literally was like, "I was trying to wait... But... Eff it... I'm recreating that for plus size fashionistas!" And recreate it, I did! Of course, Solange is rocking Miu Miu, but here's what I have come up with:

Shoes: Blue White Multi Fabric Gingham Print T Strap Platform Heels ($12.99, Ami Club Wear)

:::drools::: Rashida Jones-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
I have mentioned my love for Rashida Jones' sense of style in the past. When thinking about which celebrity I should look to for this week's post, I pondered why I hadn't given Rashida a shout out in a while.... and I sought to remedy that. Fortunately for me, I did not have to look long for the outfit to recreate!!!
Seriously, how cute is this outfit?!?!? Most times when putting together outfits for these posts, I pick outfits I would LOVE to wear... but most likely wouldn't. This is not the case for this look... I would TOTALLY wear this outfit on the weekends, if I was going someplace I need to look very cute at. Here's what I came up with:
Top: Grey Floral Shirt ($49.50, Evans USA)
Jeans: Women's Plus Dark-Wash Skinny Jeans ($39.94, Old Navy)
Boots: Kensie Girl Ranella ($57.99, Zappo's)
Clutch: Glamour Pearl Clutch Bag ($14.80, Forever 21)
Necklace: Long Pearl Necklace ($59.95, Coldwater Creek)

:::drools::: Rachel Roy-style for Plus Size Fashionistas
Designer Rachel Roy definitely has a signature style that people love to talk about. You either love the way she puts together her outfits or you hate them... but we're talking about it all the same.
I happen to love Rachel's style, and when looking for inspiration, I always find a style choice that I know that I could replicate and rock just as well as she does. Take my recent pick. Rachel is attending The Cinema Society and Nancy Gonzalez screening of "Meek's Cutoff" at Landmark Sunshine Cinema in NYC earlier last Spring.
Maybe you are like me... When I spot a celebrity at an event during the winter and they are dressed like they're in Hawaii or something... I always have to shake my head and say, "I KNOW they are cold!!" Rachel proves you can be stylish without the risk of pneumonia! Here's how I recreated her Winter Wonderful style for Plus Size Fashionistas:
Coat: Ulla Popken Fleece Shawl Collar Jacket ($39.00, One Stop Plus)
Top: Striped French-Terry Tops ($24.94, Old Navy)
Jeans: Red L-Pocket Jeans ($39.99, Jessica London)
Scarf: Soft Tencel Scarf ($55, US Trendy)
Shoes: Fergie 'Protest' Pump ($69.95, Nordstrom)
Bag: Johson Satchel ($24.49, Aldo Shoes)
Complete your look with a smoky eye and a matte red lipstick and you are ready to hit the town!

Cinema Couture: Music and Lyrics (2007)
I love Drew Barrymore's style and have featured her fashion in the past. When wanting to do an outfit recreation post for this week, I got the much needed inspiration in "Music and Lyrics" playing on cable.
The movie is funny as hell and how much do I love Drew's wardrobe in the film!!! It's very New York and it suited her perfectly in her role as Sophie Fisher!!
Drew, when are you going to come out with your own scarf collection and hook us all up?!?!
My favorite outfit from the entire movie is from the film's climax, is unfortunately I could not locate a decent photo anywhere. I decided to choose my second runner up for favorite outfit of the film, which is a pretty fly look!
So cute!!! Here's how I recreated the look:
Jacket: Women's Plus Canvas Military Jackets ($29.97, Old Navy)
Dress: Printed Midi Dress ($45.00, Simply Be)
Boots: Lulu Cognac Knee-High Boot ($48.50, Torrid)
Scarf: Ecote Abstract Open Weave Eternity Scarf ($29.00, Urban Outfitters)
Earrings: Made Brass Hoop Earrings ($17.91, Asos)
Now the earrings I selected from Asos are CRAZY on sale right now, and I can confirm that they are gorgeous in person!! I knew immediately when recreating the look I would select them.
I didn't include the sunnies or the handbag to my outfit, but if you really want to complete Drew's look, these shades from Forever 21, along with this bag from Lulu's would be the perfect place to start!
